Recoil doesn’t really mesh well with the amount of fast paced movement this game has.
If they increased their charge time required for a 300 HP shot or gave their body shots falloff at less than 100 HP at max range, that would be good enough.

I mean, the whole point of this is that winston, her counter, has a much shorter cooldown on his jump. So he gets it and then has longer to attack if he dives and she grappled away.

Don’t know what snipers you are playing against because if Hanzo and Widow are landing their shots, your team is not melting anything, they are instantly getting sent back to spawn.
Can be said about many other heroes that got nerfed. There is no reason why Widow has not gotten nerfed in a meaningful way. She meets all the oppressive and lack of counterplay requirements for her sniper to get nerfed and has met these requirements for a long time.
I don’t get what the point of snipers are when about 40% of the roster have huge hitboxes. At least reduce the bodyshot damage.

I personally play support, I’ve played against diamond widows, masters widows, plat widows, gold widows. I don’t know what SR you’re at but I haven’t seen these god widows and hanzos that are hitting you behind walls with hook shots and flanking and obliterating you’re team.
Now I can say things like movement, positioning and awareness but clearly you’re the best player in the game so whats the point?
I agree its annoying to get 1 shot, but if you’re arrogant enough to think you’ve played it perfectly when you’re getting consistently headshot by snipers then you’re wrong.
But again, you’re going to say I’m wrong, flame me and then go on rioting for a sniper nerf.
In some ways you’re argument is valid in that widow and hanzo having 1 shot is unfair. But if they don’t then they’re basically useless and they need to fully rework the entire character.
There is certainly counter play against widow and hanzo. Literally any half decent dps can take on a good widow. She is pretty worthless once you get into close range. There is also wreckingball and winston who easily deal with both of them. As a rein main i can say they really arent that big of a deal as long as you are using cover and know where to go for a decent flank.
Thank you! Its not hard with a little coordination. Also if a hanzo is flanking,its normally easy to spot unless its the first fight. Mainly because he isn’t trying to log you. Plus if he gets spotted then he’s usually an easy kill.
I personally find most hanzo and widow picks on a good portion of the maps to be near throwing. If you are picking them on cart pushes or attack you usually aren’t helping the team much. Don’t get me wrong there are games where they throw down. But generally there are better picks for most game types.
Personally hitboxes need to be tightened up a bit. But thats a in general issue, not a specific sniper issue.
Even if they were to make a nerf patch it’s still (currently) a few weeks on PTR with a few weeks of live (actual testing) and then another few weeks of PTR before it goes to live. So maybe early 2020, at the speed of a Blizzard.
Tbh, I can see there being a much bigger issue with snipers after the next patch since shields are getting nerfed. So I’m surprised to see this thread now. This has really been a bad patch for widow and tbh most hitscan dps
I think most of the concern comes from the PTR, but i’m not gunna say anything really about it until a week or two after it hits live.
Widowmaker should have 100 life and 50 regen shields to emphasize her glass cannon nature and give her poke resistance to encourage her optimal positions.
Hanzo should have 150 hp because he is as damaging as tracer, the staple glass cannon
There was certainly more counterplay for other heroes that got nerfed to allow more counterplay. Considering Widow instantly kills you which leaves absolutely no room for counterplay, other heroes with infinitely more counterplay were nerfed.
If they are better than the Widow. If both can hit shots, the other dps is dead unless they are also Widow.

And if two of your tanks are in the enemie’s backline, the rest of your team is vulnerable and the other team will save Widow, kill your tanks, and kill you or kill you and then kill your tanks.
You have a barrier and enough hp to not instantly die.
“As a rein main” you aren’t flanking a good Widow. Widow is also not planted in one spot, all she needs is an opening for about 1 second to instantly handicap your team with no counterplay.
