So let me get this straight… the cowboy… that has a flash bang that last 1.6 of second and a roll that takes him back 5 meters is the most op thing in the game right now… really… the man who glows like a giant beacon when ever he ults, moving at a snails turd of speed, with a dang tumble weed that basically gives out his hiding spot every time he high noons.

Should be “most people in the forums”.
It may be implied, but lets be precise here.
Having said that, and given the population ratio of the people forums vs. everyone who plays, it is safe to assume that only a fraction of players want to butcher him.
I’m sure anyone above masters as well the devs know that Mccree needs a bit tuning down.
The evidence is there, in this case I didn’t give him what he wanted because I know what he is doing. Oh and my debate skills are outstanding thank you very much.

Exactly. 90% of the nerf hero X threads on these forums are about DPS heroes.
And 90% of the people that post on these forums are support and tank mains that don’t represent the majority of the Overwatch players.
Every month there’s a new witch Hunt to whatever DPS hero is currently being played.

The factual evidence points to the contrary, he hasn’t been touched precisely because high level players and the devs know he isn’t OP.
Lol I’m a Widow main. I think McCree is overtuned lol.

Then you are in the minority.
Also McCree has several weaknesses.
He’s slow.
He’s loud.
He has a bad ultimate.
He has a huge head hitbox.
You bait his flashbang and he’s an easy kill.
And he’s never had an amazing win rate.
People mistake popular with overpowered.
A hero’s popularity shouldn’t mean they should get nerfed to the ground.

True, but empirical evidence shows small tuning down eventually comes down the road to any highly picked hero or in fact, to any “Meta” hero.
So unless the meta shifts to be unfavorable to Mccree, maybe after few months there’s a probability that he will be tweaked.

Sometimes yes but not always. Also, the nerfs, if any happen at all, will be very minimal, basically a slap in the wrist as there is not much they can nerf that won’t send him back to the bottom of the list. I’m certain they will not nerf what most people want nerfed, it will most likely be a slight FtH or combat roll nerf, which I’m fine with.
This already sort of happened but in reverse. What I mean is that after he got his last buffs he wasn’t meta for MONTHS, it wasn’t until about february I think, that people started to complain because of course, he became meta, which is what always happens it’s been this way since release. If McCree wasn’t meta and wasn’t complained about for months in the same state then he is not the issue, which is one of the main reasons the devs haven’t touched him. Even in the pro experimental patch McCree was literally untouched sooooo, yeah that says a lot about what the pros think, and the devs listen to what the pros have to say.

You’re not required to do this but I bet you are a good and genuine person IRL and since you are, lets shine some light on the forums.
I have not been unfriendly to anyone, if you actually read my posts you will see that all I have ever done was express my opinion in a polite manner, it’s the others who cannot tolerate theirs being challenged and resort to being “unfriendly” so I wonder why you don’t say that to those who actually act that way, curious.
You weren’t unfriendly, but neutral and factual.

Just sayin that things can be expressed in a more pleasant way even when talking about something as insignificant as a character inside a fictional game… since not everyone is centric to just talking logic or numbers.

Pleasant is a subjective thing, what you consider pleasant others might not. I still wonder why you single me out to say this and not the ones who actually were, literally unfriendly, but well, it doesn’t matter that much.

Well, I still think it would’ve been nice if you said the same things to those people in order to defend the one who is acting in good faith. I guess since you don’t deem them worthy I can understand why you didn’t though and that on itself is very telling on how toxic and wrong they are.
