The trick is to Trans + keep distance. Genji can only animation cancel if he doesn’t have to waste dash to get to you.

Deflect hook, and woah buddy brig was nerfed so that’s not an option really anymore.
I’ll let you go with the hack, but that’s basically the only ability in the game that will slow genji. Won’t stop him though.
she can still bash u through deflect ad most roadhogs will bait out his deflect with a melee and fyi deflect is a reaction ability ie you need to do it before the roadhog hooks you or just as he does or guess what you are going to get a face full of piggy another one is flash bang which can still stun him MID deflect

btw deflect is a get out of jail ability which means HE uses it to avoid damage its like saying nerf zarya barrier tracers recall or reins shield because they use it not to take dmg so its op

sombra hack literally renders him almost useless and u can use roadhog ult on him jesus christ
and u can use “counterplay” to his ult its called transcendence or sound barrier

Hammond’s minefield also a way to counter nanoblade.
There’re countless of time I saw Genji dash into my bomb face first and BAM!

While i’m against to nerfs to Genji in any forms.
I’m obligated to say, it’s not possible to fully counters a Nano blade when well performed.
- Boop is meaningless because he has the higher move speed when in Blade(except for hammond).
- abilities like sleep dart or flash can backfire due to deflect,
- abilities like bash can be avoided
- transcedence can be a way, but dash+one hit when fast performed is enough to kill a 200 hp character in the mid of transcedence
- he can outdamage Lucio ulti on his target if he sticks to it.
- hack is too slow to prevent him of killing someone unless you do it before he dash, what is near impossible unless you are talking about EMP, and is not guaranteed he will not do anything after being hacked, he still is a character with 300 effective hp that do 180 swings and walks far more faster than you.
- Minefield is too slow as ability to use to counter him, a good Genji will get two or more picks before the mines even arm in the field.
- Earthshatter is one of the most reliable answers, but can be as well avoided or baited since Genji can double jump.
- You can avoid it with Cryo Freeze or Wraith form, but once your team was wiped/half-wiped after it you can’t do much outnumbered, probably without healer.
- Winston can try to keep Genji away with his ult IF Genji wasted his dash somehow, good Genji would Dash and hit, therefore kill someone before Winston even reach him, when he does, Genji will have his dash again.
