Name one hero that D.va counters

i just realized i can’t think of any anymore.

[EDIT: here’s a list I’ll keep editing based on replies]

So far these ones I agree she can be a soft counter to:

  • Winston
  • Pharah
  • D.va
  • Ana
  • Bastion
  • Junkrat if caught alone

Someone has pointed out that she counters the following and there is debate over whether she’s a hard counter or the hardest soft counter but general agreement other than the definition of those terms:

  • Moira

And these are the answers thus far of people she absolutely does not counter who counter her, but some people think it’s the opposite for some reason:

  • Mei (???why would you think she counters mei???)

And these are people mentioned who she should counter and used to counter, but now kind of counter her.

She can eliminate pretty much any dps out of position and eats ultimates. It’s not about who she counters, it’s about the utility she brings to the team.

D.Va doesn’t sufficiently counter snipers anymore. Ashe usually has an escape and a potent gun in the instance of a D.Va dive. I don’t know if eating dynamite is enough to sufficiently call D.Va an ashe counter.

When Sombra’s being especially annoying, it means she’s setup nearby. Which is always within range of D.va’s boosters. It’s especially dangerous when you’ve got an attentive D.va and she hears you firing your gun or sees the direction you teleported, she’s going to be on you in two seconds.

But her trash survivability after a series of hard nerfs to her makes even that hard. I’d rather just shoot tanks instead of chasing down squishies nowadays.

her beam takes ages to kill dva and dva can also matrix her orbs.

That’s how you counter Sombra. You may not always be able to kill her directly, but just disrupting her playstyle or rhythm is enough to make her useless. Sombra will always go after isolated enemies and D.va has the ability to intercept her regardless of where she is.

and if youre a smart sombra you can hack Dva and with Dvas massive crit box its game over

im not sure sure Dva is a good sombra counter but a good sombra can counter Dva

All of these do a lot more damage to her than people seem to think. Phara at best is a neutral matchup as to be frank both would rather fight other targets. People seem to forget that a single dps causing a tank to go after them alone is a huge win for that dps as it frees up the rest of your allies to do what ever they want. And it is far from guranteed that either side will actually do something in the Phara vs d.va fight. Most often its both of them trade a couple of cooldowns and then go back to doing what they were before.

Sure she has some potential to do stuff against Bastion and Junk but she can’t stop everything that they do (cds are a thing afterall) and when they do hit they hit her like trucks.

I still would rather have a barrier over dm versus Moria. Orbs are the least troublesome damage source and its much much better to deal with her primary fire than it is the orbs. Afterall she needs to drain to heal and by standing behind a barrier it is much more difficult for her to gain healing charge.

You have a really really small margin of error and can get demeched with out any issues before you get in range.

It depends on who’s going after who. Sombra should hard counter Doomfist, but if the Doomfist is aware of the Sombra, Doomfist wins. Likewise for D.va, she has the ability to respond to Sombra whether she’s attacking a teammate or teleporting to try to escape.

Dva is better than any other tank at focusing and killing Pharahs and Mercys imo. also like some1 else said above she can punish pretty much any squishy thats slightly out of position or weak. Dvas still alot better than given credit for

She doesn’t do enough damage to roadhog to be truly effective. Her rockets are nice, but once she’s used those he just heals through it. Dva is a hard counter to Sombra, and can dive snipers that don’t know how to escape or have already used it. But not Roadhog.
