My thoughts on why symmetra doesnt need buffs

Nothing you say has anything to do with:

  • Symmetra’s primary being a worse weapon dps wise than her original unless you are a literal aimbot with 88% accuracy
  • Slower to charge up
  • Turrets still being slow and easy to destroy, therefore cannot be used mid-fight
  • New teleport is very slow to setup, just as clunky to use as shadowstep and not even enough range to be considered proper teleport
  • Still cannot teleport teams consistently out of graviton surge
  • Has a wonky setup location, messing turret bombing
  • Setuping turret bomb is slow and makes symmetra vulnerable
  • Symmetra lost a lot of survivability from 2.0, making her super squishy
  • Symm does not have the survivability of a melee hero needing to duel with tanks or being mobile enough
  • Symmetra’s ammo was reduced, making her beam requiring tons of reloads if you want to use it against anything that does not have a shield, which is 26 of the cast
  • Because of too fast decay, reloading makes her lose charge level every time, making it really inefficient using it against anything that is not a shield. Other shield breakers do not have this problem
  • Slow charge and pinpoint accuracy requirement makes it really difficult to use against smaller targets and charge up on them, but decay makes it impossible to keep it rolling when larger target is not available, making her bad at brawling against every dps hero (as a melee hero) when her orbs are also barely passable and easy to dodge
  • Meaning she has horrible tools to kill enemy dps with, even in her optimal range. Other dps do not have this problem, reaper the tankbuster will happily blow up some squishy dps if he gets close and hanzo will do the same from all ranges
  • In general, can barely do more dps than a zenyatta (overbuff), but lacks any kind of burst potential which makes it very difficult to secure any kills
  • Right click is still extremely easy to dodge, but lost their niche of piercing shields, now they are just very bad pharah rockets, while still needing to charge up
  • Literally everything about her needs to charge up or is slow to setup, making her lose to conventional dps heroes
  • Current symm is even more team reliant on her teleport utility, but people still haven’t bound interact button
  • She no longer counters anyone such as Genji, yet she gets countered back harder because she lacks shield generator
  • She went from insanely good ultimate that forces enemies to deal with it to an ultimate that enemies can simply walk past

And this is just some of her problems.

Just because myself can get 4 golds in a match because rest of the people in the match happen to suck, doesn’t mean symmetra is anywhere near good.

You mean the factual numbers where as a dps hero, she barely gets more kills and damage than a Zenyatta, but has worse burst, far worse utility, no range and is not even a healer with the best ulti in the game? Those factual numbers that spell out clearly “symmetra is garbage dps”?

Symm would be fine in the support slot as she is, barring some qol. Current symm is nowhere near fine as an actual dps. Because they forgot she needs that actual pewpew up her sleeve in order to work.

If one has to play a support dressed up as dps, play zenyatta. He’s far better at the job.
