After reading many of the posts here i came to conclusion that the Overwatch player-base is under a delusion. A delusion that balancing the game alone can fix the state of overwatch. While it’s natural for players to strive for improvement and seek victories, the ludicrous expectations and standards placed on Overwatch developers has led to a toxic mindset.
The OW community at the present time lack realistic approach towards the game by refusing to acknowledge that there are complexities in the team-oriented gameplay but places the responsibilities solely on the aspect of the game development. There’s a dire lack of empathy within the Overwatch community.
This community has forgotten that Overwatch for many is about the shared experiences, friendships forged, and fun had along the way. We have forgotten that it’s the unpredictable nature of Overwatch that makes it such an engaging and dynamic experience.
I think it’s maybe too late to reverse the course. Whether it’s 5v5, 6v6 or 10v10, nothing is ever enough. I am disappointed there’s nothing can be done now.

You seem to be part of the problem you’re complaining about.

Blame the devs for pushing the game to the competitive side.
The moment ranked mode was added, the game went downhill from there.

Role queue imo was one of the worst changes. I initially loved it and still like at least knowing each team will have a tank and supports, but it basically meant you roll the dice almost every game when playing support and just had to hope you get a good dps/tank. Otherwise you’re forced to sit there for 15 mins blowing your brains out.

I have no friends who play this game, they all quit and anyone that still plays is toxic now.

It’s not just a problem for supports, it’s every role. But yeah this is one of the reasons I’ve always hated role queue and I say it never benefited anyone in any way whatsoever, it just makes them feel better. The reality is role lock gives you far more unwinnable games. If one role sucks it’s over and there’s nothing anybody can do about it. In OQ anyone can switch roles and pick up the slack.

Eh, I think DPS players have always had it good when it comes to role queue. There’s a reason everyone would switch to DPS back in open queue when the actual DPS weren’t doing their jobs.
lol this was due to stupidity. Stupid people think “hey we losing. we need more damage. damage good. damage = win”
OQ massively rewarded smart players who could actually identify problems in a team and swap to fill in the weak link. Winning is never about high amounts of damage, it’s about your teams strength as one unit.

It’s not about more damage, it’s about actual damage because the other DPS weren’t doing their job. And no damage = nothing dies = lose the game.
Healing more cannot kill enemies and that is how you win the game at the very core.
The majority is not smart and even if you are, but your mechanics are bad, you are stuck with mindless drones, who will pick 5 DPS and will let you choose your character…
OQ would work, if the game was more harcore and most players would play team oriented. The reality is different and thats why we have RQ and why its NECESSARY to have RQ.
Really don’t care. Cancelled PvE, substantially worst monetization practices is enough for me to lose my empathy. Especially with them lying for months in months about the PvE.
You want empathy then put out a better product. But because they’re greedy and want their pockets lined it’s money they keep going. They may work hard. But at this point I don’t care show us better results and you’ll get more empathy.

Is OP upset because people are debating what format is best for the game?

Well, even the new and shiny Marvel Rivals has toxic players. Every game that has communication has toxic players. The only one to blame for being toxic are the toxic players themselves, because we all have a choice in how we act.
Ah yes, the lofty expectations of… [checks notes]… doing what they said they’d do. And failing to do so… repeatedly… for years.
Can’t imagine why that would annoy anyone.
6v6 still needs to come back, seems like a masked post to say it needs to be 5v5.
For me it can.
For the game overall? Of course not.
The marketing is like nonexistant.
The dev team is nice though and seems like they want to try something, they are just always so slow.
Some people say they like the little events but to me that’s more wasted dev time and they’re forgotten about a week later.
