That’s true, but I think “hit box” is just a general term for that. Like Brigittes shield bash is a cone angle than a hit box. I only say wrong because well it has to have something, 0.0 is just not good lol.
It literally cannot be zero.
I would say thats true if when a hitscan bullet hit the same area where the projectile did.
But thats not the case.
go ahead and pick hanzo (for a standard) aim as close as you can to the head but not to close. you will hit (soldier as a standard) now roll up McCree and hit in the same exact spot (when you were hanzo) you will see McCree did not hit a headshot like hanzo.
Why?
thats because the projectile has a hitbox and that hitbox is relatively way larger than hitscan (Makes sense since projectile is a not instant while hitscan is)
Same deal with whip shot and hook. they are projectiles with a relatively large hitboxes.
saying it has the size of 0,0m is just false because hitscans have a 0.01m by default. you tell me whipshot has no hitbox? you telling me she cant hit anything with it?
yeah sure brig can have 0.05 but thats 5 times that of hitscan which btw yeah seems really small on paper but it is not in game.
I don’t get the idea of “tightening” hitboxes on low powered abilities and weapons just for the sake of it. You are literally making an ability harder for no purpose then to make it harder.
Brig is still slow and requires melee range and will still need to activate inspire via whip shot. There is no compensation buffs like increased projectile speed or any additional reward added for hitting the whipshot because… support? I guess the saying “skill should be rewarded” only applies to specific roles.
I know I made an entire post listing all sizes with just shields as a measurement tool. Hanzo for example shoots a Ball like Hitbox with a Diameter of 0.2m
No there is one thing you two seem to misunderstand in a game something can have the size 0.000… m/mm/cm or whatever measurement unit you prefer.
The game is in the end just maths and as you probably had at some point in school functions or Geometry or anything else on a Coordinate grid.
you can have such points here two which is wayy easier for calculation then a proper Hitbox as it is way less to calculate a point then a point and a distance (which basically is a hitbox)
Both whip and Hook at least when interacting with shields are extremely likely to be just a “moving” point in this 3D grid we call Overwatch with no size at all thats why I just called it 0.0m I know this is a bit confusing but I didn’t have a better way to describe it in a small table like this. It could be potentially be that it has a really small size like 0.05m or smaller but thats so unnotisable at that point that for a player it would literally be unnoticeable if it were just a sizeless dot like I described earlier.
A size on something so small would just be unnessessery calculation time. Again speaking from interaction with shields
Well Hitscan is an entirely different system it can’t really be compaired as it simply checks if at the moment of firing your gun, your crosshair aims at a Player or Shield hitbox as it litterly instant and has no Travel time. So in theory hitscan neither has a size but its neither a dot cuz its not working with a grid/Coordinate System but with viewing angle
What the hell just 3000 more hp and her ultimate charger is 1 second jeez that we’ll give me nightmares
