Was overwatch on another drive?
An overwatch clean install is much better than windows install, in fact windows install does nothing for most games I think, unless you actually broke something of windows
Even then remember that overwatch is more of a CPU game, very optimized IYAM, the card only starts getting used if the graphics are high, or if the resolution is high
So
Steps I’d do
- Clean install of overwatch
- Delete the temporary files (you do this by typing %temp% on the search bar and deleting everything you can)
Make sure you have enough RAM
Which I’ll ask how much ram you have, since ram is directly “connected” to the CPU
I went from 8 to 24 and I easily got double the performance
100%, but I think this is due to the graphical things and how certain attacks work
My biggest hits on framerate were
- Introduction of Moira
- Introduction of Doom
- Introduction of Ashe
- Introduction of Echo
Even then it was 1000000x better than cringenite
That was unplayable at low graphics lmao
Anyway I’m still happy overwatch is still only 25GB, I hope ow2 keeps it this way (like not go over 50 pls)
A clean installation has helped me tho, and many people said the 8GB patch that happened recently made their fps worse but they actually improved mine
