Mutations is what this game needed

I know it’s just arcade, but this game needs this card system. This is the best way to keep the game 5v5 if they insist on that, and not have such hard counters to everything.

Isn’t that just Paladins?

Hell no. I will not play this random parade. And this is said by MH player

It did need them, but not in PvP

Maybe they could add them to a permanent mode where the players fight NPCs in the environment. They could even have some story attached to this mode. Also mutations is a bit long, maybe we can use a shorter word, like talents?

What if the mutations were randomized? Would that change your opinion, Kohai?

It doesn’t change anything at all, hoobae. When I see a new character in mh, I know exactly what they can do. With talents, that’s not the case at all

mutations are an unbalanced and kind of wild version of the item shops that games like paladins have

could take a deadlock approach and make them OP on purpose, as long as everyone has the same sets of items to counter-buy

:hamster::ok_hand:

That’s not going to happen, it’s a very difficult thing to balance, the current mutation system is exactly the same as the card system that Paladins had in its alpha at the beginning of 2015, and in the end in order to balance it they had to reduce the number of cards a lot and although they managed to have a more or less decent balance and without making the cards boring by adding disadvantages to the strongest cards, such as the card upgrades being temporarily deactivated after you died, and even so they decided to change the system some time later, and that’s despite the fact that the Paladins developers have a lot more experience in this type of games because they have been making similar games since 2005 and they know how to balance their games much better than the OW developers

Here is a video so you can see what the card system was like in the Alpha of Paladins so you can compare them for yourself

Lol no thanks, as if the balance was not bad enough. That mode needs to stay as an arcade, if you crave it so bad go play paladins. See for yourself what a hot mess that is

No siree, intern. We don’t want MOBAwatch.

Control but even more rounds.

No we don’t need this waste of time garbage.

How about this. How about they just fix their damn game? Go back to 6v6 like EVERYONE wants, rather than trying to literally shove turds through a shoe to make it “work”.

Wish I could test it more but the hero offering is… :face_vomiting: to say it nicely.

Dva does get boring after a few rounds of only d.va

dps options are worse and support while having kiriko didn’t fuel my desire to keep playing.

anti swap? fire whoever came up with that.
they dont play ow.

I’d be happy to see it as a permanent arcade mode, and to add all the characters. It would likely be very popular, at least for a little while. It must absolutely never find its way to QP or Comp though.

Play Pokemon long enough and you’ll learn to hate RNG affecting your games. Most game platforms I have ever seen within communities always always always do whatever they can to take out RNG from the game.

The ENTIRE smash scene for fighting games for tournaments small and large universally remove items and ban stages with largely random elements because it removes control from both players. Hard to feel competitive when the result of a game can give a huge advantage at the turn of a dime.

The pokemon scene even has specific clauses to ban things like being able to put multiple Pokemon to sleep where you have no way to get them up except for RNG or banning evasion moves that turn the game into a highly RNG state.

Competitive communities HATE RNG. Its only casual audiences that like RNG because in many cases the RNG can work in a players favor and give them success they would otherwise lose. The system would have to be very robust and deterministic. Paladins card system is pretty decent for stats and things, but yeah, absolutely cannot use randomized effects.

they could make it non random if they were to actually implement it. I agree if it was RNG cards, it would be bad.

Either absolutely all the selected cards for each character are immediately known and there is an opportunity to get acquainted with them before match (which will take a lot of time each time), or there is no difference with randomness

And this is a huge amount of information to keep in your head for the entire match

Talents are amazing, but not when they’re random every game. Give us Paladins, let me choose my build!
