If only it were that simple. Hide’n’rez was not universal nor as rampant at all levels as some let on. The fix was a bit like getting your arm amputated and a prosthetic for a subungual hematoma versus addressing it appropriately.

Are you serious right now?
When someone asks a question they expect the person answering to… y’know answer the question in a way that makes sense. That’s how communication works. If they don’t, then the person asking is likely to either assume that best case they weren’t heard, worst case the answerer is actively ignoring them.
This here is a written medium so best case isn’t a thing that can happen. GEEE I wonder why Mercy players aren’t accepting Jeff’s “answer”. Claiming that Mercy players “got an answer” is either ignorant or trolling.

At the rate they are going they might as well add a forum rule saying “Mercy discussion is forbidden on our forums, sorry”. They’ve had megathreads running for so long now (for the wrong reasons) that the community has slowly started to adjust to becoming used to Mercy discussion not being welcome on the main forum.

They have no plans to revert Mercy. They also feel she is not in a horrible place or unplayable.
That was the answer they got. A blanket statement was probably better and less triggering than anything else he could have said.
Kind of like how you don’t like my answer to what you have to say, it was a matter of not getting the “right” response. You don’t like what I have to say so you assume (or should I say, ACCUSE) me of trolling or being ignorant. Kind of ironic, right?

Fun is subjective but Mercy is so much more fun to me now that when I hear someone say “Make Mercy fun again” I just think you mean “Make her simple”
There is so much more to Mercy now and flying around like she does with her upgraded pistol and staff is so much more fun than emoting in a corner waiting for your team to die.

This is false.
I am a mercy player, she now rewards more than hiding.
You can valk and damage amp in a Dragonblade and. Visor or simply use your pistol if like myself you can dps too.
Her jump on Guardian angel added a skill move, now you need positioning or good communication to get Rez, which still can swing a fight singlehandedly.
She isn’t still the best solo ladder healer.
I genuinely don’t see how people think she is weak. Her and a Brigitte is amazing.

Never said she was weak.
On the rare times I got a 4 man Rez with old Mercy and then our defense held, there was no question in ANYBODY’s mind that I was the reason the defense held.
Did amping that Dragonblade or Visor help? Maybe maybe not, I have no idea and I doubt you do either. Pistoling during Valk is pretty fun, but it is really not the best use of it.
The Guardian Angel jump is great. In my opinion it is the ONLY good part of the rework.
For her current Rez… taking a hero who was all about surviving no matter what, healing, and zipping around; then giving her an E that stops literally all of that for 1.75 seconds is puzzling to put it nicely.

Sometimes a hero can’t be super “fun” and balanced at the same time. Imagine if they reworked Mei’s freeze to go through barriers that would be “fun” for Mei players but most other people would break their keyboards and uninstall the game

Hide and Res was never a systemic problem, it is more of a forum urban legend that only a few bad Mercy’s used - as a Mercy player you probably never hid, I know I didn’t hide and none of the Mercy players that I’ve played with, spoken with, or watched on Twitch ever did. Why? Because you can’t build an Ult while hiding that requires you to actively heal and boost damage. Once you have your res you still can’t hide or your team dies from lack of heals and support and then you have to use that hard earned res at a time that you don’t want to negating the entire process that would have allow you to hide if that was ever your goal. Hide and res is utterly impractical compared to PTFOing on the front lines.

Mercy is fun for a lot of people, so it’s just an opinion. If she was actually broken then I would agree with you, but she is not.
Just because I don’t like a public building painted a certain color doesn’t mean it needs to be changed. Now if that building was falling apart, then yes, some changes would be needed😂
That being said, I would welcome some tweaks to valk, I’m all for that, but I’m ok with the way she is, for now at least. Just my opinion.

If she’s fun for a lot of people then there’s really no need to keep the megathread open anymore. Simply delete any thread which is talking about a revert (as that’s off the table), but allow any other discussion to take place on the forum like any other hero is entitled to do. It’s hard to know from pick rate alone if a lot of people find her fun though.
I agree on the idea of removing the Megathread and deleting the revert threads
Since it’s OBVIOUS they don’t actually care what’s said in that thread. They’re not fooling anyone
They’re either going to have to revisit her, or admit once and for all that they don’t care anymore and that megathread is a nice way of saying “mercy thread quarantine”

After a while of playing, I was actually surprised how little I missed big Rezes, and Res as a whole. Mercy is still just as fun to me as she always was, and now she sees consistent play in all skill tiers.
I find Valk a ton of fun due to its versatility (which is what drew me to my mains), and angel hopping handles like a dream.
