Just don’t call it voting. Call it a raffle.
Quelithe is right in saying that Blizzard is where people should be directing their hatred, not the folks who are trying to play a map they like in a system that a lot of folks seem to hate.
As it stands, this is what we have to deal with right now, but rather than getting aggressive towards your fellow players, get Blizzard to make some changes the same way that Stadium mirror lockouts were reverted, and how (probably) comp stadium will go back to being best-of-7 if enough chaos is drummed up about it!
Obviously not, but we do not use majority in the Presidential election either. The country would look very different, otherwise. Lol
In the Electoral College system, Buddha’s vote is worth more because I be thicc, son.
How so? Explain. Bc under my superior map voting system, the map with the most votes just automatically wins. No cringe roulette spin that seems to land on 1 troll vote maps more often than it should required. But its not like im the only one who gets to vote, as everyone can still vote for whatever map they want, including you. Its just that if over half the lobby votes for a cool map like Kings Row while you make a singular vote for cringe maps like Clash trash, then lmao youre SOL.
It´s almost like taking away a player´s right to choose, because their choice will be automaticaly void.
Its actually not. Nobody is taking your precious right to choose away. If you lose the map vote bc you alone voted for clash trash, then it might seem like your vote was worthless and lmao yeah, but not really. You still got to vote.
I wish the system would give one vote to every map, in addition to the player votes. I’m tired of playing the same maps over and over and over again and never getting the chance to actually learn the new/reworked maps. I literally have been to Aatlis and the reworked NJC a grand total of 5 times since the map voting system was introduced. Not 5 times each, 5 times total, across both maps, and that’s with me voting for them every time they show up. How am I ever supposed to learn how a new map plays when I see it once in 100 games?
Even for the existing maps, the fact that certain maps are unfavored and selected infrequently means that players will be less comfortable on them, which just reinforces the desire to avoid them. They can still get feedback and give players the ability to influence the map choice, while shifting the probabilities towards the long tail a bit, so we can get some more variety.
On a somewhat related note, can someone explain to me why people like Hollywood so much? Point A is both one of the hardest points to take on attack and one of the hardest to recontest by the defense, and the payload sections are so punishing if your team won’t choose vertical mobility and the enemy team does.
What´s the point of choosing, when you know there is no chance for you to win? That´s not a choice.
The point of voting is moot if the majority vote looses.
Imagine voting 99.9% in favor of something but because of RNG the 0.01% wins the vote.
Pointless.
A more accurate assessment and should be immediately implemented instead of “vote.”
I like it because it has no ramps.
It’s depressing that people in this thread cannot tell the difference between a raffle style vote system and a democracy, as well as believe that it’s ok to disenfranchise a persons vote just to get the map they want. I’m pretty sure that if they were voting in society they would be in favor of gerrymandering. ![]()

Thats up to you, bud. Totally different matter from whether you have your rights or not lmao.
No. there is literaly no choice, if one vote doesn´t count. Can´t you understand it?
They don’t seem to understand the difference of concept between a full blown democracy and raffle voting, they don’t seem to understand why disenfranchising a vote is bad either. It’s a dead argument.
Understanding is all im doing. You should try it yourself, you’ll struggle less. Bc in reality, in actuality, there is a choice for you to make if you want too. You have an ow2 right to vote thats enshrined in the constitution of Widow’s sweet behind, and no one can take away those rights from you. If you cant or wont understand this, then I cant help you. Also, im not interested in your pivots. My superior map voting system isnt even in the game (sadly), so theres no real need to cry about it anyways.
lmao thats you. “disenfranchising” “gerrymandering” bro its a vote for a map in a video game. If real elections were done the same way there is a non zero chance Kanye would be president.
There is a special place in the volcano of Samoa for people who don’t vote for Illios or Lijiang Tower.
Personally I’d like to disenfranchise every ow2 voter. That way only the maps I want get elected lmao.
The map thing has been really bad. Im playing 6v6 open Q and the map vote thing has a number of issues:
- The person that wants to play that one map they picked. Can’t.
- The majority vote fails part of the time.
The fact that we get a roulette table that only votes somehow only INFLUENCE the map picked instead of the majority rule is what makes the feature bad in the first place.
The other core issue is: we get votes that only offer 1 type of mode and it is one that nobody even cares for. So people just refuse to vote.
Today, all i kept getting was 3 tiles of maps that were flash or push, and im sorry but nobody even wanted to play those dog (bad word) maps.
If you don’t understand what the various voting systems are bozo, that’s fine.
Many in this thread are crying because they don’t understand the various types of systems there are. We can see that because they don’t understand concepts of voting outside of mob rule. So they are upset because it’s not mob rule and they don’t get final say so now they want cut votes off so they can have it their way. That’s known as, say it with me now,
disenfranchising
. They understand the term so poorly that we have people arguing that it doesn’t eliminate a vote while that rule in general literally eliminates the vote by process of irrelevancy. And if it’s not a serious vote then why do people treat it like a standard election? Could it be that they just don’t understand the terms and various systems we have? ![]()
