More people talk in Valorant than Overwatch

haven’t you seen all the threads about what happens to ppl who try to talk in OW?

Also gaming existed way before talking in games was popular so the need to talk in games is mostly a zoomer thing.

Just breathing in OW could get you muted

The saddest fact people reporting are rarely even “victims,” just people who had their ego ruffled and rather than clapping back or standing up for themselves, they covertly cause permanent damage to other players’ accounts.

I’ve had GM’s tell me they’re “taking great strides to combat toxicity.” When 99% of the system is automated, the system itself promotes petty/manipulative behavior, and I’ve have zero confidence most of the staff with any creative control have the social intelligence to follow the logic of what’s going on.

Like you’ll see arbitrary nerfs come out after only days/weeks of people complaining about certain hero(es), but when there’s a fundamental feature effecting hundreds of players for over a year and a half and NOTHING happens.

if i play val i could be talking to some people having fun talking whilst hard losing and no one cares they are genuinely the most positive playerbase in swift play. in a clutch situation missed all ur shots and panicked in front of the team watching you? they say nice try. in overwatch one mistake and now ur public enemy no1. your team hates you the enemy team hates you no one plays overwatch for fun anymore in qp.

Its because Valorant doesn’t have a system where you can lose your account for cursing (Unless they do and I sound completely dumb right now)

From the information I saw yesterday, it’s possible they are about to.

Lol what?

OW1 also had a lot more social features like the end cards, and general chat

As toxic as they were at times I also had a lot of positive interactions with both. Its a little unfortunate that the social aspects of multiplayer games are slowly dying out.

I’ve never heard anyone talk about valorant

definitely not a zoomer thing, when Halo, COD, CS have been around for ages with voicechat.

Miss Halo, COD voice chat talking crap to the enemy team before/ after game, was peak gaming. Not these zoomer keyboard warriors

Do you even Quake III and CS 1.6, bro?

Na was playing Halo, COD, Gears on Xbox 360

Exactly. It was fun to talk trash to the enemy team and beat them. Talking trash to your teammates and losing is cringe as hell.

Yup, why talk trash to your team

True. We also had LFG. The game doesn’t incentivize chatting with other players anymore and it’s harder to make friends in-game now.

With the false reporting and trigger happy automated suspensions, I have disabled all chat and text. That’s the type of game blizzard wants anyway.

At least when I do eventually get falsely suspended, the appeal should be easy since I’ll have exactly 0 things typed in game and 0 time spent in any voice channel.

As many have said, while people are being auto suspended and auto banned for hurting precious feelings (or really…ANYTHING at all…)…nobody wants to talk anymore. I have all communications disabled. Yay online multiplayer game…

Unlikely riot will take a loss to keep comp alive and the game is more a shooter then a ability game which caters to a much wider audience.

Valorant is going to be worse than OW looking at their recent announcement.

Anyway - gaming companies need to stop trying to be the Stasi and just make existing mute buttons more convenient.

If they aren’t going to punish trolls throwing games, creating crappy anti-team gameplay experiences (which makes good players quit their games) then they shouldn’t be punishing annoyed reactions to trolls.
