Moira players are ruining tank games on 2 2 2 for low elos

I dont agree with this. I get the logic behind your statement but I know people who have potential to be higher or people who already are better than their rank. But one thing is to be better and second think is climbing. You can easily be platinum skilled player in low gold. How? Because you get better but for some reason you still didnt climb. Because sometimes climbing is just not easy. You have to overcome many things. You can pretty much safely say that someone is where he belongs only after he is playing in same elo for longer period of time.

I watched Kabaji yesterday and he placed in Diamond on new account? Does that mean he belongs in diamond with tracer? Hell no. You could say that only if he would stay there for a long time. I think more than 40% of OW polulation is slowly getting better and better at the game as they play, slowly improving and climbing over time. And as MonkTenzin said, playing with people who are on your level or slighty better can actualy help you a lot.

Same as communication with others, things you said about low ranks and communication is not true at all. I think we already spoke about this on this forum. Yes, you may have bad calls in low ranks, but it doesnt mean there are only bad calls. First few seasons I basicly learned many things just by playing with people and communicating with them in voice chat. Even in low ranks is communication very important and if you know what to do, you can help others to do right things with good communication skills.

But when no one is in voice chat to hear you…all your effort goes on deaf ears literally.

I’m on PS4…I solo que quite a bit…hardly anyone on voice. Ever.

Well thats sad, its not any better in EU tho. Only way is to climb higher where more people is using voice chat.

I’m trying. Hoping 2-2-2 helps me out in other areas (no more utter crap compositions)

Heh, I’m on PS4 as well. We could team up? Maybe I can give some tips? I’m not great but may be helpful?

I’m in UK.

I’m hopeful for 222. Can’t make things any worse.

Sadly PS4 is crappier than pc version. More kids and casuals on.
(Nothing wrong with kids per se. Had a kid carry me to 4 wins in a row a few months back. He’s diamond now).

Idk where the hell this idea came from, but my understanding of where a support positions themselves is BEHIND the team. The only exception to this rule was with the arrival of Brig, and she’s since been toned down to where she needs to be behind the team, as a support should be.

Used to play a lot of Moira up until a few months ago. I loved being able to keep my tanks up that well.
Whenever I see a Moira not utilizing the best parts of her kit it just makes me really sad, such wasted potential.

Obviously not. He climbed to GM in 10 hours. Think before you talk.

But thats exactly my point. Someone being in certain elo doesnt mean he belongs in it. You can say that only if someone is in same place for a long time.

but isnt enabling bad habits in low elo what keep people in low elo? if im supposed to enable my teams bad play to win the match game after game after game am i not counter intuitively and sub consciously concretely enabling my own bad habits? and thus not really learning to play the game properly but just doing it because im trying to enable my teams bad plays into winnable plays but putting myself in a position i shouldn’t be in the first place?

it just feels like if you’re not good enough to carry then youll never escape it. learn how to carry and youll be at least diamond. again it just feels that way… i know i personally need to improve…but improve enough to carry every game is not easy.

Smurfs/alts can carry if people are lower than their mains on it. If you are for example true gold ranked player you will hardly carry high gold games if you want to climb into platinum. Its not how climbing is usualy done. You just play slightly better than people in your rank, getting few more sr per wins , making good decisions, and getting slowly better at every aspect of overwatch and eventualy you will climb.

You have to adapt to the SR you’re at.

I’ve played all the way from 1300 to 3200 (Off season duo queued with a GM), or 1300 to 2580 on my own power.

At 2500, as Lucio, I stay behind my tanks. I’m on comms and advise when I’m going to speed boost team in. I let my dps do the work as my mechanics aren’t as good as theirs. When team loses fight I retreat or die quickly.

At 1500 or so (Playing with casual friends) I end up contesting the payload 1v6 as none of my team want to touch the payload, whilst conversely enemy can’t hit me with non ult attacks.
At 2k I was able to contest a point as Moira for ten seconds vs a Rein, Hanzo and Zarya as they couldn’t aim for toffee. i ended up killing the Hanzo and survived until my team got back. We kept the point.
At diamond an enemy McCree can 2 shot me in under a second if I’m in the open like that.

If your team mates are worse, so are the enemy, so you can make riskier plays. But you also need to make riskier plays because your team mates are worse…

Best example: Game in silver. Attacking Hollywood. A few seconds left. Team has lost all cohesion and is feeding its brains out. Hog rushes in whilst 4 of our team dead in spawn. He Whole Hogs with 4 enemies on point. I activate coalescence and shoot him up the butt to keep him up as he ults, plus get some damage in. We clear the point and progress, to eventually win.

That’s a play that would be utter insanity in plat plus, but my team mates were feeders, balanced by enemy team being unable to down an ulting Hog due to their mechanical deficiencies.

Or the Moira never heals the dps so they are dead all the time, easy gold damage for her. I love flexing in the support role and despise “dps Moiras”.

Or the enemy team doesn’t have a d.va and their damage orbing to feed ult charge to the enemy supports.

Same as Ash players with no aim using dynamite.

Moita always has inflated damage numbers, esp. At low elos where dva players often don’t eat the orbs - or none is present. Her healing gets inflated by that, as well.

So playing support, I too see this… however I will tell you how I end up playing Moira and how I end up DPSing… so say I’m playing Mercy. Or Bap. Or Ana. And I’m silver, so none of this nonsense of me 1v1ing the diving Genji…

Me: “Genji’s diving me.”
Team: …
Me: [dead]
Me: “Genji’s still diving me. A little help?”
Team: …
Me: [dead] [switch to Moira]

At least I can put some pressure on the Genji while he’s in my face since my team does nothing to help with the diving Genji. Oh and I use to consider Brig but on the PTR I found that her kit is really inferior to Moira’s with dealing with the diving Genji … in other words it also requires the team to help. I still use my healing ball but I’m gradually sapping Genji’s strength with my stupid purple ray gun.

Oh and it is very enticing to chase the Genji when he’s down to 20 health to finish him off… sometimes I die doing that. :frowning:

As an Ashe main, I couldn’t ask for any more from a friendly Moira player.

Please, PLEASE, do not relent upon sapping an enemy Genji of EVERYTHING he has if you’re within range. Moira is arguably Genji’s hardest counter. You are within every right to take that engagement (just please toss your team a heal orb when you do ^_^)

There is no main tank. There is no reason for your team to be grouped together as they will just make it easier for spam heroes to wipe your team. Of course they’re going to be spread out. So why would you pick Moira with 5 DPS / off-tanks? What they’re doing is sub-optimal but you’re not doing anyone any favours by picking Moira in that situation.

I had a game where i was Moira.

My team was losing teamfights, we were losing the point more often than not.

I had 5 golds…

I said something about outdamaging our DPS, and the one DPS flipped out.
He said, “you only have gold damage cause you’re not effing healing!”

I had 7k healing for one round of a Koth map.

I told him that, and he said, “that’s nothing! you just proved you’re not healing!”

After the DPS told everyone to report me for not healing, he left.

I had the only card at the end of the round, 4 gold medals, and 11k healing.

…Moira has a bad rep… :sob:

The good news is that dps support Should start becoming a genuine banable offense in this new system They been keep tracking of all our misdeads. The Judge is rendering a verdict bois. Judgment is upon all yee trolls!!!

Yep, Mercy might have been better. She’s the best choice for dysfunctional all dps teams apparently. My bad.

Still, it’s not like they helped themselves either.

Even funnier example. Had Moira (me), Rein and 4 dps. I follow Rein to the point and we find that our 4 dps have all gone a different route and been murdered by the 6 on the enemy team that actually stayed together…

I swear that a lot of my games are like trying to wrangle retarded kittens back to the basket.

I’m hoping that 222 somehow fixes this. Maybe long queue times will force dps to tank and support and they’ll feel the frustration of trying to tank and support a bunch of odd bod death matching dps that wander all over the map.
