thank you i agree with this, dont get me wrong junkrat and roadhog sound awesome, junkrat while the accent isnt great the energy he brings just works, roadhog’s va just doesnt bother with an accent but he does sound good, just wish he even attempted an accent, i agree they are not huge issues and torb should have been voiced by a swedish person but blizzard are a huge company, if they want to find an australian or a swedish person they can

well, i am happy with Torb’s voiceacting in general, the personality and all. I just would’ve liked for him to have had some Swedish voice coaching. One doesnt have to be from the specific country to do an accent that is at least similar.
my bad i honestly worded it wrong i dont mind voice acting from americans if they really cant find a swedish person but if you have to go with an american then voice training(unless they are just an expert with accents) can always be helpful

the sad thing is i am not even worked up about it i just find it weird there are 3 australians in overwatch, one has a real accent(pretty sure that is junker queen’s natural voice if the VA is who i think), junkrat has a fake one, its not a bad fake one but its not a good fake one either and roadhog has an american accent, there is zero consistency
not upset just confused why they couldnt find australians for australian characters or at least attempt the accent, same for swedish characters ect

Voice acting in this game really bothers me. You have some amazing performances and right next to them some really bad ones. If they created a lore and a background for the heroes, they should deliver them carefully and not only include few lines in their national language.
Very, very lazy.
In case of Roadhog - the actor did such a great job creating his personality. But accent comes with this hero. The director should’ve hired a teacher if they really wanted to keep the actor.
I also heard complaints from russian fans, that Zarya’s accent sounds fake.
Look at Ashe or McCree - actors do a special step to not only make the hero alive, but also the way they speak matches their background.
Sometimes hiring an actor of the same background as the fictional character is just easier way to accomplish final goal.
Junkrat and Roadhog don’t sound that bad but they don’t pronounce a lot of words like an Australian would. I’m really hoping they’ve got an Australian VA for the Queen (of Junkertown).
i agree it can be very inconsistent, and ashe and mccree are very good, considering ashe was bastila from KOTOR(and many other characters) i always expect a good performance out of her
if the internet is correct Siho Ellsmore is the VA for junker queen and she is australian, i always suspected the junker queen was actually voiced by an australian tbh
New Zealand has the largest concentration of Polynesians in the world. The skin designs are unique to Polynesian culture, the skin toa is Maori for warrior. I think you’re the ignorant one.
It’s not ignorant to say that I find it weird that Roadhog isn’t from New Zealand considering NZ has the highest concentration of Polynesians in the world. I am Maori and live in New Zealand, I have quite alot of family in Australia so I know what it’s like there. Also I’m not advocating for any voice actors or any lore to be changed because I don’t care that much, I just find it weird they would class Roadhog as Australian.
I think One Four are all Australian born by the way, and they are predominantly Samoan with no ties to New Zealand.

it depends if the skins you are talking about are lore based or not, but he could easily be an Australian with Maori heritage, his skin tone suggests he is Polynesian in his ethnicity, i do believe a few onefour members do have family in new zealand but i could be wrong about that
