Moira doesn't take a brain cell to be effective

The comments on her auto aim never have suggestions for fixing this included with them.

She’s built to be hard to deal with for flankers, which means she must have a means to deal with poke damage as well as high mobility heroes.

What is your suggestion for removing her “auto aim” while maintaining her strengths?

I said nothing about her aim requirements.

Her “beam” can stay as it is, it can be balanced with different abilities.

I agree Moira could be designed better. At a minimum replace her damage orb with an offensive utility orb.

This would give her utility, and remove annoying ‘calculated’ orb deaths 6s and 5 bounces after it was thrown.

I’d like to see her beam hitbox tightened and given higher dps too, but acknowledge it would make her less potent against flankers so I don’t know. I feel like her fade is already anti flanker since she’s hard to dive, plus the hitbox could still be forgiving without being broadside of a barn forgiving.

To follow up since I forgot to mention it, she just stomps too hard in lower tiers, and then in higher tiers she has no utility to compete. She is like the bastion of supports in that sense, only recently enabled by a very specific meta (double shield Doomfist).

I want to hurt people but I dont want it to seem like I’m auto aiming, can we make it so it looks like I’m not auto aiming but ultimately I have the effectiveness of auto aim?, ok cool

Well sometimes people stun me and I dont like that, can I just disappear when I’m scared and have that move on a low cooldown?, ok cool

You know sometimes I want to hurt or heal someone but I cant reach them, can I just have like an orb that does that stuff for me while I’m not looking?, ok cool

She’s annoying because her entire kit boils down to holding buttons, escaping and a fire and forget ability.

Ive reached high masters on an alt acc only moira and i eventually stopped because it just felt pointless. You could easily get up there and never have to try harder than you did in lower ranks.
Its not even her succ attack that makes her no brain, its the lifesteal on it. And the fact that she has a literal invulnerability invisibility cleanse ability to allow her to escape any engagement if you had put any sort of thought into it beforehand.
Oh and she heals 65 hps, that can stack with healing orb which ALSO heals for 65 hps … ontop of her primary heal leaving a lingering effect of 15hps for 5 seconds … ontop of coalessence which heals for 140 HPS … yeah. So far moira has:
-the best healing of all supports
-the best self sustain of all supports
-the best escape ability of all supports (it removes anti/dynamite burn/freeze… it lets her escape almost any ultimate including grav/sigma ult…)

So yeah. In a meta where you kill 1 support = you win the fight, being able to be the best healer, the most independent healer, and have the best escape of all healers… its a no brainer why shes meta, and why she will stay meta.
Shes the easiest support to “master” and its painfully boring to do so. It becomes so rinse repeat… id love a rework.
So much for aoe healers sacraficing strong healing for aoe healing … she has it all and it demotivates me.

Guys seriously, wasting your time ranting on an easy kit is just going to burn you out as the defenders naturally don’t want to lose their toy which invokes delusions of grandeur (had a Gold Moira player tell me yesterday they would be pro except they “didn’t have enough time” lol).

Blizzard has chosen for the moment to give folks a kit with training wheels on it, and sees fit to continue to do so. Its dumb and was a poor decision in hindsight, it doesn’t help people learn the game, but it is what it is.

Other heroes require thought and Mechanical skill. This is why Mercy was downgraded a lot of rungs. If I have to aim a gosh darn projectile and worry about swift striking… a Moira should have to think twice about throwing a damage orb out or just running around holding the damage button. It’s practically look-to-aim mechanics.

Anyway, what Moira can do for her team isn’t a matter of opinions, it’s facts and at best not agreeing on definitions of things.

Let’s look at Moiras abilities:
Fade: mobility, survivability Nothing specifically for her team. Sure, staying alive is great, but I’ve never heard anyone say “Tracer’s mobility is what she has to offer to her team” but rather “Tracer being able to harass the backline is helpful” which is a cause of her mobility and survivability, not Blink and Recall themselves.
Biotic Orb healing, damage That’s literally it. At best you could argue about Damage Orb making space, but by that logic, every damage ability makes more space, and Ana being able to 3 shot arguably more than a slow ball with tickle damage.
Primary and Secondary Fire - healing, damage Literally just that.
Coalescence - piercing healing and damage Wait, I think I found something, being able to ignore shields. Too bad it doesn’t do much besides that, and it’s an ult. And again, it just is better healing and damage : )

She is a top pick because it’s the only healer that has an ability to escape their death you know… instead of beign a punching bag

Thanks for the guide to Moira, having played 100+hours of her i’m aware of her abilities. Will stick to Tesla vids when I want to learn more however.

Well put sure. I think a good portion noticed this when she was first released but of course you get the peeps who “just counter play”. I’m so glad people have all come to realize the same now. She needs to be re-worked into something that requires more mechanical skill or uber game sense (e.g. Reinhardt)

This isn’t a guide, it’s a question. Gold healing is expected because it’s literally the only Support ability she has to offer. Why do you disagree?
