As someone from the UK I can only hope I can continue playing Overwatch and WoW if the CMA continues to be an annoyance.

But hopefully the CMA comes to their senses after this. They are now alone on attempting to block the merger.

And I really do want to emphasise that last bit: If Microsoft can’t even be bothered to fix Halo, the franchise that basically is Xbox, do you really think they’re gonna give a damn about OW2?

Im sure if CoD wouldn’t exist (or if Battlefield would be more dominant) then Microsoft wouldn’t even have considered to merge with ABK.

The CMA’s response to the US court’s decision:

"We stand ready to consider any proposals from Microsoft to restructure the transaction in a way that would address the concerns set out in our Final Report.

In order to be able to prioritise work on these proposals, Microsoft and Activision have agreed with the CMA that a stay of litigation in the UK would be in the public interest and all parties have made a joint submission to the Competition Appeal Tribunal to this effect."

Seems like there is potential for a solution for the UK market soon. At least I hope so lol.

Nobody buys a company for 70 Billion without a Plan.

Best Case Scenario:

  • Fire Bobby
  • Rebrand Overwatch 2 as “Overwatch”
  • Invest into making the PvE they promised
  • Release PvE as “Overwatch: ~Story Game Name~”
  • Be more generous, give out more free stuff, add an Account Level System like OW1
  • Hire more devs for even more content
  • Maybe bring back some Old devs who are very skilled and just left because of leadership
  • Expand Overwatch Universe, more Games, TV Shows, Movies, I dont care just do it.
  • (Personal preference, make Overwatch 6v6 again)

Wishful thinking? Maybe. But im actually Happy that change is coming to this Godawful Company that just happend to make one of my favourite Games (The original Overwatch, not OW2 that Game is a big yikes.)

Worst case scenario, OW2 becomes a tax write-off. Obviously the least likely outcome, but it would be very funny.
