Mercy's cooldowns

You replied to a reply that said that mercy shouldn’t get her ga nerfed. No buffs were ever mentioned in that string.

Ga is the tool she uses to relocate from place to place. If it’s nerfed too much, she is forced to pocket more because movement becomes more dangerous.

What other avenues did you think about?

Her movement is more tied to her character than many other bits of her kit.
They could nerf dmg boost and adjust how it works (charges, resource meter?)
Could rework around her ult or rez pretty easily.

It truly is skill issue. Coming from someone who mains her and coming from someone who also plays other characters as well. All it takes is good tracking, game sense, aim, and teamwork helps obviously. It’s a team based game. That’s like complaining about a Doom who has good movement and ability juggling. You can’t be mad he can get in and out when he’s playing the game well. You should be mad you and your other teammates aren’t coordinated enough to do something about him. That’s all this comes down to. Have better game sense, aim and teamwork. If you have none of that, it’s straight skill issue and not Mercy’s fault. Mercy is fine. If you don’t think she’s fine, play her enough and you too will see the difference it makes in going against someone who can aim and/or coordinate with their team good enough to get a pick on her. If you think people in lower ranks can’t focus her, that’s also not the character’s fault you’re in that rank. GA is fine. You take GA away from Mercy when it’s core to her character, then you have to give her something else to make up for it. I guess nerf Tracer too then. Let’s just take away every single movement ability every character has and play old school COD. Lmao.

The amount of times I’ve had to switch because I was being dove on…

Run dive. Be coordinated. I can Play Dva and track down a Mercy just fine. Doom is also really good against her. Just watch for cooldowns. Cooldown callouts are a thing and have always helped with winning team fights. I swear some people forget what kind of game they’re actually playing.

Anyways, he can also very much fondle a support in the way they don’t want to be fondled. The doll is just being squeezed at this point, not pointed at.

Lmao. I feel your pain on the highest of levels. Doom gives me nightmares. I try my best to save GA for his dives but nobody is perfect and on top of that, players can be so coordinated that it just shows it’s time to swap to something a little better. Even someone like Mercy with good mobility can be punished. She only has her movement. She doesn’t have something crazy like cleanse. The panic Mercy players feel sometimes when using GA as much as possible to avoid dying… they deserve to live if they are good enough to use that ability in very smart ways and have good positioning. It just may not always work no matter how good a Mercy is with their movement if the enemy team is also just that good at focusing.

Her GA is the one area where I think it’d be appropriate to buff, not nerf

Any nerfs should go to some other aspect of her kit, but as a imo slightly weaker than average character, I dont see her as needing any nerfs whatsoever

I am a strong believer in the old adage that if it aint broke, dont fix it

I see nothing in Mercy’s kit that needs fixing

Her recent net nerf did not affect GA at all, so I am unsure why anyone would claim that all changes are focused on GA

Mercy requires plenty of skill already to play well

I dont see her as needing any additional changes that up her need for skillful use

No you can’t get all the buffs in the world and still maintain GA in the same state its in.

Not with a kit as controversial as Mercy’s is steep with balance drama and complications.

It’s called balance, not “let’s cater to our cashcow hero.”

As I already said, Mercy does no need any additional “skill expression” changes

There are indeed folks who want such changes, but wants and needs are two entirely different things

The amount of times I’ve died on Mercy and had to swap off make this post particularly laughable (also the amount of Mercys I’ve killed with some of the cds you’ve mentioned).
Sorry you’re getting outplayed by a Mercy player, but just because you want to gripe about it doesn’t mean she needs nerfing. :person_shrugging:t4:

Right? If they did this, then they’d be getting on the forums to complain that Mercy players are useless because they’re always dying.

I mean, time to expand your tank repertoire, buddy. I get, I’m not the most versatile tank, but you gotta own that you’re acting like Mercy is a problem when you’re just using the wrong tool to get the job done.

This is exactly what I was thinking, she’d have to pocket, people would complain about that , and considering how little protection she gets on average, she’d be a sitting duck.

Juno flies about as much. I would say she has a pretty influential kit and heal burst too.

Her kits needs to be balance not bloated.

We already both agreed she needs some help, but they need to EVENLY DISTRIBUTE her strength elsewhere.

You are in charge of what OW characters get buffs or not?

I see her current kit as close to balanced but slighly on the weak side of the balance line

Yeah GA is not. That’s where it gets its strength from, from the rest of her kit.

One wrong move and you’ll just have a Mercy GAing and doing whatever decent ability they give her.

There’s no kore excuses. If you want Mercy buffs then GA’s gotta get hit to even out her kit. Nothing more to it than that no matter how you spin it. In fact the rest of her kit is exactly the reason why GA remains so potent as an ability.

You’re never going to use this wording for your Mercy case are you?

IF they do that then she would need a huge buff to her kit as a 5- 5-second cooldown that is tied to the position of a teammate.
