One usual complaint I see with Valk is how players don’t often understand the “stay close for the beam to arch” thing, and without a visual indicator of it’s distance, it is a bit hard to motivate the team to do so. Instead, what if instead of beams, the target to Mercy’s valk healing had a circular Aura similar to Lucio’s? mechanicaly, it would be exactly like Valk’s usual healing, but with a visual indicator for players to understand how to position themselves to take better advantage of it.

It sounds cool to me, and I see no reason for anyone to be against this since it’s mainly a visual change.

People don’t listen to comms unless it’s target calling,
So even if you say “group up on x” nobody will listen, it’s up to you to use Valk when it’ll get a ton of value.
But having it be an aura, people have the indication on their screen. This is where you get damage boost and healing.
Would the enemy team have vision of the aura? If so, I think this could be a great QoL buff to be honest
I mean it could, but considering this is something similar to Lucio’s ring I would assume not.
Do still like the idea though, would be nice to know about how far one can stray from the main target while still getting the benefits.
Sometimes I forget whether or not an enemy Lucio’s aura can be seen. Lol, but regardless having a visible aura from the enemy team or not, the enemy team should just intuitively know that anyone near her thiccccer beam is also being healed by ber
I actualy though of the aura to replace the beams, make it visualy cleaner.

Well would be weird to point the staff with nothing coming out and this aura popping at your intended target xD plus this would be a “QoL nerf” since you would have trouble picking the right target to capitalize on it’s AoE.

Even I, as the Mercy, get confused who the beam is split to. Damage Boost is fine but the healing beam is so pale.
The beam still comes out of the staff. The beams that connect Mercy’s target with his ally are what would be changed to a circular indicator.
That’s actually a really good idea, kinda like trans, except mercy’s beam turns into a healing flashlight xd
very good idea, another qol change for mercy would be to not stop healing during the valk start up animation.

Also, maybe besides the beam, the targeted ally could have like this visual golden aura around them.
The player would only see the normal healing golden thing but both the friendly and the enemy team would see the target and orient their positioning accordingly.
I hate that so much.
