The higher skill the player it gets much worse… Id rather deal with a Mercy pocket than see someone with Argge skill level of Hanzo trying to kill me.
yeah because one of those oppenents doesnt have to play the game they just hold a button (or click once forget they added toggle because holding a button was too hard for mercy “players” ) while hiding behind a wall and not playing the game or interacting with the enemy team. could train a monkey to “play” mercy with how one dimensional hey “gameplay” is
Lets make it a game for people who heavily dislike Mercy pocketing though.
Why are all the Mercy players always saying they have asked for changes and that the changes forced them into this playstyle? Can’t have both.
Even if she was, the game changes, heroes interactions change. Even if she was good in the start, does not mean she is still now.
Not about her being strong, it is about being unfun.
It is either nerf the pocket game style or make it far more punishable. Her mobility cooldown is shorter than any other character right now. If we nerf her mobility she can get punished easier, fixing the pocketing problem cause you kill the thing pocketing really easy now. Will this be fun for the Mercy player? Probably not… that is why I am more in favour of a complete rework.
Res can be annoying. But it is by far the biggest problem. The biggest problem is that she is insanely mobile for a support that has to do very little to get value. Add to that the self heal passive and you get a hero that gets almost all value from other people. This is not good for the fun of the game.
Why would you change a character, who has had the same playstyle since the beta, because people who think they’re amazing on DPS, can’t hit a flying character?
She still has the same primary game loop she has always had? Heal damage, boost teammate. The only thing that was changed was OTHER people complaining about her FORCING her to do that MORE than she did before?
There’s plenty of unfun things in this game; Should we nerf everything that people find “unfun”?
I don’t like that Genji has one of the best tanking abilities in the game, I guess we should remove deflect.
I don’t like that Doomfist has so many get out of jail free options over the other mobile tanks who have to commit. I guess we should remove his ultimate and slam.

Except of all of the playstyles feasible with Mercy’s kit, pocketing would be punished the least by a nerf to GA. It’s the playstyle that is least dependent upon GA. A nerf to GA would make pocketing more difficult, but it would also make every other strategy much more difficult… thus reinforcing that the best playstyle to employ while playing Mercy is to pocket.
This is the correct approach.
Which beta are we referring to here? OW1 or OW2?
Yes believe or not people are tired of losing to someone that just holds 2 buttons and hides behind cover 24/7 with your only 2 options being chase the mercy which will be flying and ping ponging around cover and shields and can even tank by healing allies OR try and burn her team down.
If you need a/to pocket you are simply not good at the game. The times you do actually rarely play without abusing it you get exposed.
The only time a pocket is annoying is when the dps I’m playing against has better aim than I do or similar aim.

Back then, all she could really do was go toward an ally, stop mid-GA and superjump. That’s literally it.
Her movement right now is the entire area around her and there’s absolutely no way of telling where she’ll fly off to next - this is the reason why she’s so annoying so hard to catch.
People seem to ALWAYS forget that her movement was massively buffed in OW2.
It’s only because you can see the tether. Psychologically, you can blame Mercy directly because she’s literally leashed. Meanwhile, Ana, LW, and Kiriko can hard pocket from a mile away, but you realistically don’t know if the healing is coming from the tethered Mercy, a nearby Lucio, or any of the other supports. The healing SFXs are much more subtle and you’re likely to not notice where the heals are coming from.
Play Junkrat into Kiriko.

I think this game does need a PVE maybe people can blow off some steam there.
Just the usual reminder that damage boost is just 25%. If you are 1v2 you probably shouldn’t do that, and if you are 2v2 you absolutely should win that. It’s just 25%.
It’s a skill issue. Or maybe a math issue.
