I have no seen a single post saying “I want Mercy to be meta.” I have seen that she is unfun and ideas to make her more fun.

Mercy I don’t necessarily find boring because I enjoy her mobility, with this said though I think what makes her boring is the fact that she has basically no impact. She doesn’t do anything game changing. Roadhog, Reaper, and Bastion need help for sure, but they still have impact even without their niche comps. You have literally no control over the tides of the fight. Half the time in valk you just spectate your team dying. Her heals are too weak to keep up with anything and her ult is pretty underwhelming and doesn’t do much of anything in a team fight. Mid fight rezes can help but they are hard to pull off and you just stun yourself for 1.75 seconds. When Junk pulls off a tire even if it’s a solo on a support or Pharah rains justice, or even Hog clearing off a point of whole, or widow winning the 1v1 widow duels, Ana sleeps someone ulting, Zen saves the team in a grav with trans, etc, it feels good and impactful. When Mercy valks its eh well tracer can’t kill me or your rez and watch another ally die its like well I got someone up or Dva needs healing and you sit there waiting 10 years for her to get full. It’s just like okay I guess.

Other than the fact you’ll get yelled at for even thinking about using your pistol. Legit had some McCree get headshot by Widow while I killed the enemy Sombra doing his job for him and he has the audacity to go “WhY ARen’T yoU HeAlinG MeEee!?!?”
Not only that but her general playstyle has been watered down to duo partner pocket sidekick rather than having some sort of playmaking tool like Moira and Ana do. She feels unrewarding to play, and only parts of her kit that can actually stand up to other healers are her survivability and Resurrect. Her survivability is barely even an asset when you can’t even provide the same value as other healers so that only leaves the leech known as Resurrect which got nearly everything in her kit nerfed because it doesn’t belong on E.

Never wanted her to be Meta but one would assume good balance would mean when there’s only 3 competitors for a role the balancing wouldn’t throw one of them below C tier

I mean personally I encourage battle mercy and really don’t care because I don’t like playing static dps heroes that rely on their team a lot but maybe the reason the McCree got HS by the Widow was that he was low hp and when you’re low you have to play in a certain way which makes it easy for the Widow to predict your movement. Maybe with a pocket that McCree would have killed the Widow and then the Sombra.
I mean in the end if you wanna battle mercy, it’s fine but tell your team so that they don’t expect you to be healing during it and play passively

No they don’t, that’s why they suck. If you go for the niche thing then Mercy is still a good pick.
It was only ever a problem after the invincibility buff to mercy upon cast so I mean like if we properly balanced that and gave mercy an e I believe she would be in the ACTUAL best balanced state she’s ever been in while still remaing fun and viable.
Plus rez is too much of a burden to the rest of mercy’s kit as a regular ability so it needs to go back to her ult anyhow as we aren’t getting rid of it.

Mercy’s niche is just being glued to Widow/Pharah’s back all the time. I’m sorry, but people usually want something more exciting than that. Pocketing all the time is really unskilled, unfun and brainless. She sucks too, she is only picked if you must pocket those two girls or if you have no clue about playing supports, then Mercy is now a zero star hero thanks to valk and E hide to rez. Outside of that niche, she is a trol pick, and in some ranks, she is a trol pick overall.

I like playing Ana, she is super fun. But I also think mercy is too. I like her mobility more and I can dish out a good amount of healing if my team is working with me to ensure I can GA away. Even in QP I manage at least 10k with her, sometimes 15k.
Plus I like having Ana as a second healer. If she is getting jumped and notices I have my pistol out, well, let’s just say people don’t expect that. I’ll also damage boost her for giggles xP then she will nano boost me. I think an Ana on my team got PoTG bc she and I worked together to take out their flanks and healers haha. It was a blasty blast.
I don’t want Mercy to be meta, I want her to be viable and fun.
I’m okay with Ana and even Moira being stronger as long as I can still use Mercy and have fun with her.
I just play quick play, so I really couldn’t care less about what is or isn’t meta. I just don’t like how I feel I’m playing a character without ult and a huge I’M DOING A THING, KILL ME NOW PLEASE resurrect button.
Her niche is literally just pocketing snipers, Pharah, or Bastion. Woo exciting. Roadhog’s niches include shield break, hooking people that are out of positon (punishing them), and playing with an Orisa. Bastion niche is mostly pirate ship comps which can be extremely powerful on maps like Junkertown. Reaper’s niche is killing tank heavy comps and he can be a very good flanker. If the player is smart these heroes can be played out of their niches. I think they all need help for sure, but they can still be extremely impactful on their own. I was playing with a Reaper the other day he was carrying and got a 5 man death blossom. This also wasn’t due to being lucky but from good positioning and timing. If you don’t find that impactful then idk what to tell you lol.

A mercy who managed to be D lister regardless of the frustrationg that masss rez could create.
Posts like these dont make sense to me. We main heroes in overwatch and we all want our mains to be good. We all know that cant be true though. However there are only 6 support heroes at this point.
If you can count you can tell thats a lot less than how much dps we have. At this point all support heroes should be viable.
If were being honest Mercy’s rework was a total mess and they had to dumb down her kit so much that shes bland and boring with little to no carry potential.
You tell us to play other heroes and we are but we want the hero we have been maining for the last 3 years to be good as well.
The #1 thread on the forums even points out we dont want her to be op just fun again.
Who’s the majority? Forum users? No.
