You have legitimately no evidence, outside of your own anecdotal experience, to support your claim that it was rare.
I will now say to you I have anecdotal experience that is to the contrary. That it was not “rare” and was gaining in popularity through gold/plat at the time of the rework.

Strawman is replacing people’s actual argument with something else and then defeating that argument instead. If you think understanding that makes you look smart then that’s more telling of your own intellect than anything else.
They listed a bunch of videos showcasing specifically hide and rez. You then came out of no where and accused them of construct straw man arguments. No one ever attributed those arguments towards you, or even signified that those videos were in reference to anything you particularly said.
This is why saying “LUL STRAW MAN” doesn’t win you the convo.

Correlation isn’t causation, just because the video has views doesn’t mean the practice was common. For all we know, it’s just got those views because people like you share it as some sort of faulty anti-argument. Even if it was viewed legitimately, any good mercy would have told you hide for big rez’s loses games, not wins them. It’s like being mad at Widowmaker that hide until they can try to headshot the support and just wait for that. Maybe they pull if off, meanwhile they are adding no value to the team and what if they miss? Mass rez could leave you in a bad position and just waste time too especially if you didn’t even have control of the objective.

That is a strawman because mercy mains weren’t saying it never existed under any circumstance. That is what a strawman is. Instead of having an actual debate about the fact it wasn’t common and was a bad idea like every mercy tthread ever has said, you miscontrue their statement to say “this never ever happened and wasn’t real”. Then say here is some videos it was real. That is strawman. And you’re the one who brought intellect into it. Which for something you condemn as such a low bar word, you can’t even grasp what it is or why this is in fact one.

Opinion, subjective, relative to the circumstances and conditions of play involved at the tier the game takes place in. That is to say, that Mass Rez itself encouraged a unique “gaming” of game mechanics and that it was prevelant in the tiers that exhibit a high level of disorganization. Your subjective views and experiences are not facts and your point is simply you telling a story of what happened to you.
Mass Rez needed to be moved away from, and it was, and that’s a good thing. Mercy, unfortunately, is in a bad spot, and hopefully we can solve that, but we can’t do it by arguing about the details of mass rez.
Again, nothing you said reinforces your point that the person you accused was making a straw man argument. All they did was provide evidence that it was not just a “myth.”

Some have. Legitimately they have. And I haven’t seen them accuse all Mercy mains of anything. I’ll have to go back and look through the thread but I was specifically referencing their citing of videos displaying mass rez. Not what they said at the #15 reply to this topic or whatever.
What is your actual position in the conversation? From my POV you just came out of left field accusing someone that linked videos of constructing a straw man argument. That makes no sense to me.

I could go into a game and try for a while to get 720 Hammer down team kill. When I finally come up against a team bad enough to let me do it, it doesn’t prove it is how Rein is being played.

I’m only interjecting the point, that the majority of mercy threads I have read weren’t said hide and rez didn’t exist at all, but that it was a losing strategy and rarely used as a result. Ask any prominent mercy thread maker, you’ll get the same answer. I never mained mercy, but I did use her as my favorite support. So when someone is saying that “mercy hide and rez did exist see” it’s just blind to the point people have been making and shifting the conversation to something it never was.
