Mei Buff that would be fun

There are plenty of Mei buff ideas, but a cool one I’d like to see is letting her freeze the ground and be able to slide across it like Iceman from X-men. It would give her some speed in battle, but would deplete ammo so she wouldn’t be flying all over the map with it. It would be useful to escape, and to get into the enemies face quicker. And the slide only affects her.

This is actually something we talked about when she was first being designed! The main issue with it for us was that it meant that you were basically always staring at the ground as you moved around. We then thought about it as an ability where snowball would fly out in front of you and lay a path that you could slide on, but ultimately decided to try to avoiding giving her extra mobility.

From a game design standpoint, shes a hero that is more about slowing enemies and stopping them, rather than herself being fast. In general, we often find ourselves trying to resist putting tons of mobility on every hero, to make sure we keep every hero feeling unique.

Thanks, it would’ve been cool though. Most of the roster is pretty mobile, so I thought it would be a nice tiny buff to her.

I completely agree with you. It would have been awesome! Especially because it’s already in her highlight intro.

Might have made her more able to counter mobility heroes than she does now.
