The problem with buffing Pharah is that she’s the best DPS hero on console. She’s pretty much a must pick. You buff her for PC, you buff her for console, then she becomes even more of a must pick.
I want to know more about that non damaging rocket bug because sometimes rat nades do the same thing now. Pharah could use a skin that changes her style, but she isn’t the only hero with no skins that break the mold (Reinhardt, D.VA) and at least she has a lot of good skins, most tanks have one or two. About Pharah having no sex appeal, how dare you disrespect my waifu. Btw, Pharah is one of my favorite heroes to fight when I’m playing dps.
I agree with everything. I am so frustrated by watching players literally sidestepping the rockets from afar and up close it’s suicide. It’s hard to play her as a flanking hero when the team is grouping up for defense. The best thing you can hope for is to get 2-3 kills, die and hope the rest of your team can keep pushing.
Not only that but pharah is the only character with so many diff skins with the same “blue/light blue color” Its redundant even if they have different design they made sure that the color is blue so it all looks the same.
You do realize, inside mcrees falloff range, where he can actually 3 shot pharah that is also the ideal range for her to hit her rockets? pharah can kill him far faster at that range if they are both good.
sounds like you either need practise, or fought a good mcree, in which case, you are countered, and need to swap if you can’t do anything.
At range, Mcree will deal 21dmg currently, or 35 after this buff. FAR from an issue, you sometimes deal 80 splash dmg to him, and he tickles you at that range, unlikely to kill each other. you need to get close, all the good pharahs i’ve seen will float over a hitscans head and 2 shot em.
Raising the proj speed as someone mentioned
- means she can sit safely in falloff range and get spam kills reliably
- Lowers her skill cap
- would need to have it’s dmg nerfed
Pharah is fine, either the enemy can’t counter you and your mercy, or they hard counter you if they are good. thing is, it’s entirely skill based, unlike other characters counters, and you can always outplay them.
Pharah can’t be balanced until she is worse in lower elo where her bad character design punishes tiers with bad aim. If you buff her lower elo will basically be solely dominated by Pharah like how it already is.
That is also an issue, yes. probably another reason why they don’t touch her, along with most of the old defense characters.
Don’t forget that ‘combat can now be heard 20% further away’ change that happened recently, so people can hear you trying to sneakily hover way easier now (not confirmed to affect hovering and jump jets but I have a big feeling that it did). It’s almost impossible to do flankey-divebomb stuff unless a full team battle is already underway and it can mask your jet sounds. DEFINITELY won’t be sneaking with a loud sparkly mercy attached to you either
At that range, Pharah will never hit… and with the new changes to hitscan, McRee will do even more. Players can literally sidestep Pharah’s missiles at range. You obviously don’t play Pharah.
Hi, I’ve been playing Overwatch for a bit and Pharah seems to be becoming my damage main. In my opinion, these are the areas where she could be improved:

Her low-altitude performance needs improvement. With hitscan characters becoming more prolific (which may as well include hanzo), the only substantial way of hindering their accuracy is vertical maneuvering (falling/jump jet). Pharah suffers from being relatively slow as a weakness, so it would be great if grounded performance falloff wasn’t so critical. I’d say increasing her walking speed and limiting her self-damage to taking her own HP down to 1 would be a great start. Other than that, increasing her jump jet distance by a bit would be more.

Her concussive blast’s projectile speed should be similar to a charged hanzo arrow. Right now, it feels too similar to a rocket, which makes me feel like it defeats its purpose.

Cool down on jump jet should be 8 seconds like a Brigitte stun.

Her ult should be more consistent with distance (rockets are really the only projectile you’d assume would be consistent with distance, especially given her regular rockets are). And, this is a bit different from what other people suggest, but I feel, rather than adding movement, barrage’s projectiles should act like Hammond’s mines and be destructible mid-air. This could solve enemies sniping you while being within your barrage and would allow interesting tactical counters with heroes like soldier and bastion.

Other than that, her skins kinda suck. As a woman with fairly striking features, most of them do a great job at not being a helmet or suit that’s up to par.
I think the only bad thing about pharah is her ult and how situational it can be, it’s worse than McCree’s ult in my opinion.
Otherwise I think her abilities are useful, she has a knockback for environmental elims and solid splash damage, huge vertical mobility too.
Pharah is OP on PS4 so idc if they give her some numbers tweaks on PC, but they better not hit the PS4.

I agree completely. Despite what people think, she isn’t one of the most powerful heroes on the roster.
Her cosmetics are very limited. Some of her voicelines are kind of puns, but not very creative. Her skins are also seriously lacking in what many others have received.
Pharah is in dire need of attention. Game play wise she has been left behind while other heroes get buffed. Her rockets are too slow that from a certain range people can easily just sidestep them, making direct hits near impossible unless it is a stationary target. Her biggest advantage is being airborne, but it is her biggest weakness too. She can’t get to any cover most of the time while airborne, and moves far too slowly and predictably.
Then there is the issue with her cosmetics and personality. All of her skins have her wearing the armor, but it becomes very boring to see over and over, and it is very limited. She needs some new skins that are more unique, and show creativity without going the full armor route. Her personality in the game is also severely underdeveloped compared to many of the heroes. Her voicelines are either puns on flying, or military based. However, there is the basketball highlight intro, and her rocket guitar emote, which suggest more about her and expand her personality a bit. The devs should try to expand on those kinds of things for her as well.
Im crossing my fingers they make a beach themed skin for her this summer games…I know its a long shot because devs abandoned her long ago, but I still have hope

You know I’m still on board for some change to Pharah’s kit.
The dependency on Mercy will always be my greatest gripe, but it’s because of the power creep that this tends to happen.

OP, not sure if you have encountered this, but sometimes when I’m airborn as Pharah something will happen to the game for a split second. When it is over half of my fuel is gone and I’m almost on the ground again. Have you encountered that before?
