What is this bug? After certain patches some of your presets get greyed-out and locked forever!

Can I avoid it? As far as I know, you can’t. This bug occurs with some patches.
What can I do about it? I suggest you to record or take screenshots of your preset settings. If this bug occurs, you will have a backup save. However, you will still have to re-create the preset and that can be boring.
Disclaimer I can see that these players put a lot of effort into their presets and it’s painful to know that all their hard work is vanished with no acknowledge from the Devs themselves.It’s not fair to lock their presets because of a bug that is never fixed!

Some of my game modes are greyed out and they appear but can’t use them. I think this happened because of the Symmetra change, and I had changed a lot of things about Symmetra in those game modes.
This is frustrating because I worked so hard to balance my edition of murder mystery! Oh well, at least I can just rebuild the mode.
I had a custom game presets that i worked on for a while now, and for some reason they have been locked and unusable anymore, can i do something to fix it? i dont want to lose all of my progress on those presets.

Why are my custom game presets missing, they are obviously not deleted because when I go to save a custom game they appear on the drop down menu!
Title says it all. My custom game presets are all unusable, as they are whited out. Restarted the game and my PC, and someone verified it happened to them too.
As title says, lost all my saved custom game presets. When I try to save a new one it gives me a list of all my previous saved game modes but I can’t access them.

Everything was there yesterday, and I have a whole lot of presets, but today there’s not a single preset there. Is this fixable? What should I do? I’d really like my presets back.
ever since the event update some of my custom game presets are locked and i cant use them, does anyone know why that is?
I am able to save presets as normal, and overwrite presets, but the section for loading custom presets is gone.

All of them were elimination, and only 1 of them wasn’t greyed out.

Will I ever get my custom game back? It got greyed out before either Moira or Briggite was released and has never been reactivated. It just makes me scared to spend time on a new custom game, because I put many many hours into this one
I just went to load my usual custom game that I play and realised that it was greyed out (there were a few that were greyed out). I just want to know why this is because I spent hours making the custom game just to realise that I can no longer use it

I just remade my boss mode because it was grayed out. i remade it about one week ago and now its grayed out again?!?!?!? It’s so annoying because i enjoy this gamemode and i can’t even play it

Ever since the new update, i’m unable to access or even see my presets. I had to log off the game for like a couple minutes because I was talking to someone (I made sure to save the preset before exiting). When I loaded back on, I can’t see or load my presets.

I have a few presets I worked on since the Overwatch team introduced the gamebrowser (over a year now) and they are all greyed out. Can’t play them or even look at the settings I’ve made.
I first noticed this bug a month ago (thought you would fix it in sometime) but I saw now fix to it.
I didn’t write the changes down so I would like to get those presets back somehow because I put a lot of effort into making it (changed every hero individually). I wonder why you didn’t let us save our preset…
There’s a 3 Boss Vs 6 Slayers preset that I’ve spent 100+ hours (rough estimate) balancing every single hero through multiple tests and trial and error. For the first time ever after the most recent patch the preset is disabled (same for my friend who had the preset saved and also spent a healthy amount of time testing things with me.) This is a pretty big issue for us because I received so many positive feed back from players saying they enjoyed the game mode and I myself love the 3 vs 6 format…
Since Lunar New Year 2018 that this bug has been happening to me.
Basically what happens is that, with new patches, there is a chance that some of your presets (sometimes all of them) get locked and can’t be selected.
I played custom games most of the time, it was what I did the most in Overwatch. Knowing that some of my presets keep getting locked with new patches is quite heartbroken.

As of the Hammond patch, 25% of my custom game presets are still greyed out and unusable, as they have been ever since the Symmetra rework. Even though this has happened before in March, when Brigitte was released, where it was fixed within 2 days, nothing has happened so far to restore these custom game modes in this most recent occurrence.

I’m really disappointed that the new update has erased all my custom games presets, I had created more than 20 presets since 2017 and now they are all gone, can blizzard fix this so presets will not be erased after updates? Thanks
Saved presets are greyed out in the settings menu.
We run tournaments for this game mode so this of great inconvenience. All settings to the T are saved elsewhere but it’d take hours to change everything.
I want to note we solely used halloween themed maps for the duration of the halloween event. This tends to happen after every seasonal event. I just want to bring attention to it if it is occuring again.

When I open up a custom game, some of my presets (that I spent a lot of time on) are greyed out and unusable.
I’m just wondering if anybody else has problems with trying to load special presets when making a custom game. There is no problem when I create a new game, but I can’t use any of my older presets. They’re transparent, I try to click on them but nothing happens, but I can right click to rename or delete it. Ok so i’m not one to ever come on to the forums and yell like a mad man, I love the game, and I mostly play with friends for fun. That being said, I’ve made 13 different game modes/presets that I have crafted with help from the community, only to find the preset button gone along with all of my presets with our latest patch.

Haven’t been able to select custom presets for the past two weeks.
After recent update which introduced Busan map to the game, my custom game presets turned grey and stopped working. I’ve no idea why did that happen and how to fix that. Does anyone of you get the same issue? Do you have any remedies?
For some reason since the Anniversary event started I’ve been unable to use some of my custom games that have nothing to do with past events. If they were they would of been disabled until the the event came around again. I know this because I made a Lucio Ball preset that has been blocked since Summer Games ended last year. I put hours into a few of these custom games balancing them out and I would really like to know why?
From my searching I have only found as current as Mar 21 or May 21 and as of then it was disabled apparently, it is now mid July.

I’ve noticed since the update that whenever I open the presets settings in the custom game creator, all my custom presets appear transparent and, upon clicking them, do nothing.
will I have to re-create my presets, or is this a temporary bug?
My presets disappeared after the Brigette update. Has this happened to anyone else? Kinda cheesed because I had so many game modes that me and my friends together.
Update: went to go create all of my presets again (ughhh) and went to save one. Under ‘create new’, I see ALL of my old presets’ names. On top of that, when I save it as a new mode, it doesn’t appear in the presets section.
With the new Busan update, I’ve lost two of my presets: “Reincart 64” and “No Guns”. While the Reincart one isn’t mine, I spent a lot of time making and fine-tuning the No Guns mode and it sucks to see it suddenly disappear. However, my presets saved from before the Summer Games appear to be fine.
I went to create a custom game, one my presets is not working. Clicking on it won’t do anything. The preset that isn’t working has like a white background colour. I’m trying to share a link to a screenshot of this but it’s not letting me, keeps saying an error has occurred.
I opened Overwatch this morning to make a Custom Game preset I was thinking about, and I noticed that some of my saved presets were gone. I used one of the missing ones last night, and it is not one I would have deleted. I did delete others manually recently, but that was days ago.

My custom game presets are greyed out and unavailable. I suspect it’s because I have some of the Winter maps selected in the settings and they are no longer available. This is an issue that’s occurred before when seasonal maps have gone away but Blizzard still doesn’t fix the issue. At least allow us to access the presets with the problematic settings so we can change the settings and make them playable.
Hi. I was trying to load a recently saved overwatch user-mode game setting.
However the saved settings are displayed as a translucent box and can only be renamed or deleted.
This bug is common to settings that contain event maps.

I love custom games, but lately I’ve had an issue that’s preventing me from playing my favorite modes—some of which I’ve customized myself. While some of the presets I can click on, others are transparent and I cannot click on them. Was there something about customs I didn’t know about after the Symmetra update? Because that’s when this started and I’d really like to get back to playing my favorite modes.
I find it odd that all my hide and seek variants are greyed-out. I have a full stock of custom presets, but it’s literally just the hide and seek ones. I can’t used them either. I’m concerned that I may have to remake them, which means a years worth of constant updating could go in the trash. Can someone fix this please?
