{MEGATHREAD} Console Players Still Feeling like 2nd Class Citizens. [400 likes, 1500 responses]

Oh sorry! I noticed that the more I’m inbolved, the faster I get tilted/triggered. It’s kind of unhealthy. But to reapond to you, I get why you say that but it was for lack of vocabulary that I used laughable in that context!

Alright! What do you say? I think it’s time to take the struggle over on twitter as well now.
I suggest we start a new movement: #whataboutconsole

Would love to see their reaction or response if we manage to get some kind of traction/attention

I’m down with this. I’ve reached out on Twitter before. Falls on deaf ears. Maybe if enough of us do it though…

… I see parts of the commubuty totally disagree on the priorities.

While i agree we should be able to transfer skins from pc to console and vice versa, that’s FAR from a priority for me at least. And I’m talking as someone who intends to switch to PC later this year.

Your second priority is not a priority. It’s just not happening, and personally i’m fine with that. If we get specific balance changes the game might get ruined. It would destroy any chance at OW console getting an esports scene ever.

I mean, we actually get a different meta than PC because certain characters will be stronger than others and that’s fine.

The priority is to get the game working, reduce the bugs that are out there, give us the same degrees of customs than PC has in terms of hero sliders, and aim sliders.

Allow us to be on par with PC to some degree: allow us to have a more refined wheelcomm system, have the same mic options etc.

Before looking to make console different from pc we should actually try to get the same product PC has, and then look forward and see what needs changed. But hero balance is not one of those things.

Well. You’re absolutely right.
Maybe a text-chat, if that doesn’t bring much more toxicity to the community.

Could we have cross platform for PS4 and Xbox
(Not pc)

That would be great tbh.
Because I’ve heard a lot of XBOX players totally complaining XBOX community being too small.

I think the PS4 is okay-ish. But putting both together would boost everyone experience.

Unfortunately THAT is not in Blizzard’s hands but Sony’s. They refuse crossplatform play. They pretend it’s for protection of data and security of children blablabla.

I’ll translate it for you: We want XboX dead. So if you want cross platform, buy a ps4 and you can play with the bigger community!

Fortnite did it and sony wasn’t happy when it happened

How about an issue which effects everyone: input lag.

Sure you might not notice it or have gotten used to it, but try aim around and test button latency in Overwatch, then hotswap to any other console FPS like cod or battlefield and see how much more responsive it is.

Since the devs don’t play on console, it’s likely that they can’t feel the problem. PC has a little bit of input lag when V-Sync is turned on, but when turned on, it is greatly reduced.

Since none of the aim related patches have actually done anything to reduce the input lag experienced, having an option to turn off V-Sync or anything to reduce the input lag should be a priority as it affects EVERYONE on consoles.

It’s nice to see console players more up in arms about these things. I’ve said it before and ill say it again. Consolewatch was one of two things. Activision told them they had to(which wouldnt surprise me in the slightest) and/or a revenue stream for OWL. Which honestly i hope fails harder then the XFL did the first time. And how they are dealing with things it seems more and more likely.
For those saying " i think they were going to patch seperately" yea they did. Probably came across as too hard to do so eh we wont do it anymore. Console players of this game are very much 2nd class citizens in Blizzards eyes. What is even funnier is there is a reason Blizz has to have their own league and not be a part of MLG or something. NO E-SPORTS wants them…period. Hearthstone e-sport…mostly a fail, HoTS as a e-sport…fail, WoW Arena (yea it was a thing way back)…failed hard for reasons OW is going to fail. Mirror comps and only certain classes and specs being used. Blizz knows this is probably their last chance for a long time to get into e-sports. But in typical Blizz fashion they will ruin it every chance they get.
But what can you expect from a arrogant, company whom from what i know from some who used to work there a whole ton of nepotism goes on there. Like why is the guy who damn near ruined HoTS with his terrible ideas for balance now balancing their e-sport its a joke.
Do the math and boycott buying lootboxes and sure as hell dont watch OWL or support it till they get their act together.

Can someone who can post links put a video demonstrating the input lag on consoles? There’s a few good videos on YouTube.

Something like these?

You technically don’t need someone of Trust Level 3 to do it. You can also do it with Preformatted Text (Ctrl + Shift + C).
How it would look: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zOojIC7uQFk

Yeah thanks for that, didn’t know about the work around for posting links.

Hopefully this gets added to the main post because I find it to be the most annoying thing on console overwatch compared to PC.

Turning the console equivalent of VSync would help I think.

Well, back after a week and I see we’re still waiting for any sort of acknowledgement of our existence and issues. Starting to feel like Bungie’s trend of “we’re listening” posts, but at least they’re pretending…

Damn… is this post somehow invisible? Is this like a secret org inside the blizz forums or why can noone of imporce seee it? Do they have filters on console topics?

I think their console team, IF it exists, don’t really play on console at all.

On the good news front, they fixed the custom game lock out issue. Never found out if that was console specific or not, as there was zero mention of it in the bug report and patch notes.

Actually this is one of the top posts of all time

I think he meant “invisible to the devs.” Which, well, isn’t impossible… This thread is the 22nd most viewed thread in General Discussion which doesn’t have a staff member’s response, and 20th in that same set among those that are not locked. It’s also the 80th most viewed thread overall in General Discussion, and the most viewed of all Console-specific threads. Note that all of these bits are at the time of this post.

I even took the literal most direct approach of trying to get the Dev’s attention about 100 posts back in this topic, despite knowing it’s against CoC. Considering they haven’t been edited (except by me) or deleted since I made those posts (there’s 2 of them), it feels like it supports that fact even more.
