I really feel like asking them directly on social media why we don’t even have the same hero customs than pc. Really curious to find out about that.
Edit: guys! Bill warnecke posted again an hour ago!! Thia might be our chance! Will our unsung hero come to our help?!

Let me also give mention that there’s no way Console Players (PS4 for sure; if someone could test this on XB1 for me, it would be much obliged!) can remove people from our “Avoid Me” list manually. (Bug maybe?)
…Yeah, that’s a thing

I haven’t had to use the avoid player option yet
I feel like when us console players say we play on PS4 or Xbox one the PC players laugh at us saying it was a waste of money and we can’t afford a good PC to run the game.
It’s actually harder to play on console especially with your aim assist sensitivity at zero (I need it to be there because I can’t stand the AAS being on) Nonetheless playing a hero like Widowmaker.
I understand the part where having an Esport playing out on console just wouldn’t work out but it still feels like we don’t get much respect.

Several games on console have a healthy esports scene, with and without developer involvement. Having one where the developer outright sabotages any attempt at independent esports makes it kind of hard though.
I agree with everything except separate hero balancing. Once the console games are balanced separately, you’re officially playing a different/inferior game. OWL becomes completely irrelevant to console players. Most OW youtubers surely won’t accommodate. Separate balancing would be catastrophic. I’d be forced to move to PC.

And I’m aware other games does this but not that many. I also understand it’s hard to do something like this.
It’s more than you think. All fighting games have an esports scene. Most console FPS. Smite. Paladins. Some have developers aiding their growth; some have developed organically on their own. Can only think of one that flourished in spite of the developers (Smash Bros).

Just gonna update this in that there’s a fix for this coming in likely on next Tuesday: https://www.reddit.com/r/OWConsole/comments/8bfaxj/manage_avoid_players/
I personally agree with this. I mean the only thing that changes is the meta. Naturally some heroes on console are stronger than on PC, and I think that would already be enough to work for OWL. it would allow for a meta change which would be refreshening for the viewers.
But I think another fear they have and the reason why OWL is not applied on console: they are scared of the amount of players they will find out are actually in top500 and use MK ainstead of controllers. They probably don’t want concrete prrof of that out there.
But agreed, balancing shouldn’t be done differently.

I gotta admit, Retribution has brought me back into Overwatch and some aim ease in on Linear Ramp makes it ok but it still needs fixing: as well as many other fixes to us console players including the buffs and nerfs separate to console and some changes to specific hero settings, as well as the addition of deadzone settings. Then and only then can we have a good quality of Overwatch on console.
Approaching 2 months on this thread, and 4.5 months overall…
Still nothing!

No surprise there, though they may actually have bigger fish to fry right now. Lots of basic game bugs popping up. Custom Browser was a mess last night.
Still could be worse. Fortnite servers still down after their update yesterday.
Yeqh I think right now there’s absolutely no way they’ll give any attention to us. Just so many bugs in game right now it’s pretty challenging. I’m not even attempting comp with all the black screens and that kind of stuff…
Thing is, after that, there will be aniversary after barely 1month break, and then it’s OWL season playoffs, and summer games… don’t know if we’ll ever get acknowledged guys…

99 little bugs in the code, 99 little bugs!
Take one down, patch it around, 117 little bugs in the code!
{It’s a meme for programmers; I would know this from experience.}
Literally the last 2 patches have come out with something that was implemented to Console specifically broken, in addition to what is already currently broken.
March 20th - Push to Talk was broken on Consoles because Voice Chat Mode changing wasn’t there. (Yes this was fixed but it doesn’t excuse the fact that the issue was there to begin with)
April 10th - Avoid Player is broken on Consoles because right now there’s no way to un-avoid them. (Yes this is being fixed but it doesn’t excuse the fact that the issue was there to begin with)
Let’s also give mention that the new forums will be officially 2 months old on the 20th, and they still haven’t responded to any Console threads. So… yeah

With the event so many more bugs came up it’s amazing. Comp is literally unplayable or too risky to actually do so. I feel like rein’s hit reg bug is back stronger than ever, and generally a lot of hit reg problems.
Anyway! I’m still missing the expert and legendary achievements/sprays for the pvE. Anybody on ps4 who wants to attempt it?
So much later that the old narrator got tired of waiting, and they had to hire a new one…
At least the fix for Console peeps being unable to unavoid a person as teammate is coming soon, though I wish it wasn’t there to begin with.
This thread has also hit the legend number of 5000 for views! Don’t let up though guys!

Would be nice if they fixed the custom browser. It locks up randomly on the controller. Started last patch.

I feel like I should post here more
So I’ll do that
Whenever people give advice they always assume that the person they gave advice to uses a pc
(Not really a problem still a thing though)
