Saying it’s useless is saying there is absolutely 0 use for it what so ever which just isn’t true. While it may not be good at getting 6 man kills every single time you activate it, it’s a very good zoning tool, good for a single pick and other things.
E.G. If you high noon an ally, you are essentially putting as much pressure on that sightline as a widow since noone is going to try and push down that while your ultimate is up. This is particularly good for the last few seconds of a round where you can deny and entire point and someone on the enemy team will usually need to sacrifice themselves to force you out your ult unless they are playing someone like Mei.
It’s good for baiting out Deflect, good for denying a blade, good for getting a single pick in many situations, great for destroying shields, can be used to reload allowing you to FTH, roll, FTH, high noon, FTH which outputs 900dmg.
You also seem to not acknowledge how easy it is to build this ult. While yes, compared to something like blade which is also easy to build it’s nowhere near as impactful (this says more about blade than high noon), combining it with other less conventional ult’s can net you large kills. Try using it with a Bap window, you’ll be surprised how effective it is an considering how little this combo is used especially in lower ranks people usually can’t counter it quick enough.
Like people don’t understand killing one with your ult is still a fight win, i see this with genji blade visor deadeye people waiting for that big potg moment.
I mean… yeah High Noon is not the deadliest Ult… but for shure a awesome zoning Ult.
Also it fits his hero design… I mean you cant stand behind a barrier and stuff… the real suicide button is pharah for the most part.
I feel like Pharah needs to get her ult buffed wayyyyyy before mccree does. Like if you’re talking about a Kermit Sewer Side button, Pharah beats out mccree every time.
Deadeye: Unlimited range (only 200m but it’s impossible to get fall off on any actual map with that distance). It’s a better version of soldiers visor. Absolutely no aim requirements. You can move, albeit slowly. You can cancel it, and also reload your gun.
Pharah: Completely immobile. Cannot be cancelled. Good damage and decent range, but unless you’re almost point blank, most characters have some kind of tool that can dome you before they die. Pretty high aim requirements, especially if you’re using it 10m+ from your target. A lot harder to use than deadeye in general, simply because you actually have to be close to your targets to get value.
Communicate with your tanks, hide behind their body and use them as a meat shield. Flank around the enemy team. As long as you’re being sneaky and not just standing out in the open, you’ll usually be able to get a pick or two. And honestly, without some kind of team investment (like rein or sigma ult setting you up), you shouldn’t be expecting constant 5-6k’s.
cree ult isnt good yes but it isnt useless, u can use it for zoning, killing vulnerable targets in the air after they fly like pharah/echo and maybe even mercy if they go up too. Also if ur using high noon right out in the open thats on u, wait for ur tank to put a shield on u or for ur bap to immor you also if their team is running away from you to get to a wall thats crazy value bc of the space, ur team can just go in and take free space and walk onto ppl who got put out of position from the ult.
If the tire is destroyed then the McCree is killed in your comparisons.
If using the ult puts you in a really vulnerable position it often ends up also killing you. If you only get 1 kill you run a high risk of only trading one for one.
It’s only good for zoning if the enemy team doesn’t have long range cc like sleep dart or long range damage or you can just sit behind a shield. Too bad they are very common.
Barrage isn’t super good but it performs still pretty decently. It averages 5.27 kills compared to 3.2 of Deadeye. Infact barrage is one the highest killing ults but yes it’s risky and you often end up trading your life for it.
Getting little space isn’t “crazy value” for an entire ult. You wouldn’t use other dps ults to just shoot ground and say it was “crazy value” because they couldn’t stand there when it wasn’t even zoning key areas.
cree ult charges fast and taking space can be crazy value if its a good high noon ON key areas. and not all dps ults are for big kills im not saying cree ult is good it just isnt useless.
