These are some of the changes id like to see happen to McCree as well
I always joke about McHanzo with this but I really think it would fit McCree’s character so well
Also his bullets already have a ricochet sound which is something no other weapon in the game has
The only problem I see is… Fan the Hammer, without it the not so skilled players might struggle a lot plus giving him a different secondary weapon (ricochet bullets) might feel incredibly odd…
I would rather if ALL of his bullets had the ricochet effect (limited to one bounce) and he would still keep fan the hammer, that way you could shoot it at a corner and have more chances of hitting, of course, after bouncing bullets would lose dmg
You are clearly missing the whole point of the two comparison.
Wether you like it or not Mccrees onto the the path of being buffed. There’s YouTubers already on the topic of McCree being buffed. There is hope for mccree
I am not saying that he doesn’t deserve a buff.All I am saying is that he is still a powerhouse, with raw damage output.
He could use some QoL changes, and small buff; however, he is a strong pick. Just one of his weakness is Barriers, and we are in a meta where we are surrounded by barriers and shields.
We’re not asking for mccree to have a godly kit you know.
We’re asking for him to get a kit decent enough to make him viable ,not 3 reload buttons/Press Q to go to spawn + 2reload buttons +inconsistent long cooldown stun.
And also ,your comparison doesn’t make sense because again ,widow has an actual ,functioning and decent kit.
mcree needs a nerf
he doesn’t even have to aim his stun grenade and then he spends like 10 seconds aiming his mouse at your head

They won’t buff him, The devs already told us we need to play like Pine to get value from him. And not enough people play him to cry for attention like Mercy Dva and Genji, so he will remain the punching bag for the casual crowd.

You really have no idea whats McCree strength?
Of course Solider 76 will be stronger due to his flexibility/ utility.
The thing that you talked about that devs want us to play like Pine like what he was doing during OWL in the clip that Jeff shared with us is no longer the case now. Brigitte wasn’t released during that time and it was still dive meta going on.
So I believe this might’ve explained you that what I’m talking about.
Unless you want some left click damage loss, nah. This is what happens when everything useful is front loaded into his main gun. 2 shotting most of the cast has a cost
I seriously think this is all he needs to have changed about him to make him feel on par with these other heroes:
Reduce his maximum falloff on primary fire to something more fair to him; something like 28 damage instead of 21.
Give fan the hammer a bit of a rework; details below
- Reduce FtH damage from 13.5-45 to 13.5-25.
- Reduce FtH spread to be only slightly worse than primary fire. (spread is 10% wider.)
- Give FtH standard crit modifer of 2x.
- Reduce minimum falloff range from 18 meters to 13, and maximum from 30 meters to 20.
And lastly reduce the cooldown of Combat Roll to 6 seconds.
I feel like the biggest change he needs is to have no falloff damage. His main use is supposed to be reliable hitscan damage, which (conceptually) gives him an edge compared to Soldier or Hanzo, who have spread and travel time, respectively. The problem is that past mid range he does no damage, and Hanzo and Soldier are accurate enough at mid-range, which gives them the edge at every range. McCree needs to be the most dominant non-Widow DPS at long range.
I also think I’d let him throw his grenade similar to Ana’s, so he can stun people at long range.
So . . . massive straight buffs to a character already middling in picks and stats
