McCree with infinite rolls would definitely rival Tracer or Lucio doing a rollout in terms of speed
He doesn’t need an escape ability when he has the most reliable no skill kill combo in the game.
Every character in this game is weak to a coordinated dive. If 6 people are coming for them, they’re going to die.
Against a solo/duo dive it’s heavily in mccrees favour, especially if he’s being pocketed.
With infinite rolls, he matches Rein’s charging speed.
with how the maps are structured combat roll is actually a pretty good tool for allowing him to safely take off angles and get to safety when the other team applies pressure
If you go afk till discord is auto removed yeah, u make any moves u die.
If Sleep counts then Flashbang does too so OP’s point is moot either way
He has 225 hp, how much more do you want? McCree doesn’t need an escape ability. He has more than enough self sustain to stay alive and kill whoever tries to attack him.

Here are characters without escape (mobility because you seem to he referring to that) abilities, these characters have an alternative to escape abilities, whenever that be sustain, knockback or something else:

While McCree doesn’t have the strongest escape ability it still works very well for getting out of danger and can be compared to Brig’s shield bash in a way. Both not amazing for mobility but allow the characters to do their job effectively. (+Stun/reload)
McCree has a stun to counter mobility based heroes and roll helps him stay alive during the encounters, he’s not at a disadvantage and he does have an escape option even if you only count mobility.
Most heroes don’t have escape tool…
Each hero got tools to deal with what he’s strong against.
Against pokers, since they can’t really move anywhere. The best tool is usually mobility since pokers can’t chase you and reaching natural cover is extremely useful if needed.
Tracer,Genji,Sombra etc… all counter pokers really well and so they go some sort of escape tool to get out of the scene if needed.
Against brawlers, brawlers already lack mobility and range so most counters for brawl don’t have any form of mobility… Bastion,Hanzo,Ashe etc… while some of them can move a bit, it’s only couple of meters, not more than 8 (same for mccree btw although he’s not a brawl counter)… Instead, brawl counters abuse Brawl’s lack of range and mobility and play from range where they can put a lot of pressure without a lot of risk.
And lastly we have dive which is what Mccree is strong on as well, dive is very fragile and focus around mobility. Any way to stall the fight, or get them out of position usually allows for quick kill of divers. Reaper,Mei & Torb etc… are all great examples of heroes who can avoid dive using stalling.
As for Mccree, as an anti diver, he doesn’t really need any crazy mobility since he’s already focused on divers who have mobility themselves and as a brawler he should be slow…
He uses his roll to create distance between him and the diver, which can a lot of times do a crazy amount of difference while fighting heroes like Winston for example who only have 5 meters primary fire or Genji who now can’t bounce around you.
You use flash bang to punish a diver, taking it out of position and punishing him hard, and roll to create a distance between him and the diver.
Overall I think Mccree’s good just like that… Mobility isn’t a must have kind of thing, it’s a tool to help the hero reach its targets or create space between you and them but that’s it. Not every single hero should have it.

Probably because he nukes everything that come close to him with damage that cannot be dodged.
The combat roll is quite effective for the, you know, flashbang FTH roll FTH.
There are several heroes who can cleanse themselves from anti (Mei, reaper, Moira, zarya)
It’s also honestly not hard to block it. Shields, DM matrix, not stacking with your team.
