am not even joking when I say I don’t think I’ve seen a single Mauga do well in 6v6 in the 50 games + I played so far. he is terrible in this mode, awful, he literally can neither kill anything or stay alive, which is all he does, he is a way way worse roadhog. his heal cannot sustain any level of damage , even supports damage is enough to deal with him. he is a literal throwpick that should be reportable in the state he is at right now. he literally insta dies the moment he shows up to any fight, imagine if Roadhog had no heal, burst, couldn’t flank because of no hook, that’s Mauga in 6v6. a literal potato sack that does nothing.

Well, part of the issue is that it’s 6v6 open queue even in competitive. I thought it would still be role queue as it was before.

I have seen in few matches. It would require other team not having Zen or Ana or both, Not having tanks, not having bastion, torb & junkrat and maybe few others. Those three however can ruin Mauga if he is solo tank. Lastly having good supports backing Mauga at all cost.

he is more of a brawl, and he definitely has burst dmg, with his slam, a slam on a squishies, and they are as good as dead.
the only thing that keeps mauga in check is ana, but depending on the ranks people are more busy baning useless characters than banning your tank counters X)
at dimaond, i saw some really cracked mauga’s that had a very good positioning so they werent just eating ton of dmg non stop
even as bastion sometimes i struggled against good maugas, and had to switch, because they were using their brain X)
mauga has changed a lot, not a “stand still and shoot” tank anymore
This may be the root of the problem. 
His heal is only as good as your accuracy, and he definitely should be outpacing the other roles in damage during a duel between his damage, his health, and his healing while doing that damage. Not to mention the charge for a headstart.
The issue with Mauga is that you do need to be very accurate to sustain well while also needing to be doing damage in the first place. If he’s getting blocked by barriers, it’s gonna be difficult to do things. That’s where the team comes in though, helping him to break those barriers or supporting his brawls.
Mauga is a main tank in 6v6, so his other tank should be making sure to help him stay alive.

He is crap in 5v5 too. Guy is so easy to counter as either tank or support.

every tank is that doesn’t have synergy. Tank synergy is broken.
6v6 is garbage, shield stacking, zarya bubble or defense matrix
Rein, Zarya is way too dominant
He pairs decently with Sigma actually. I’ve seen some good Mauga, but it depends what the other teams playing on support, and how smart the Mauga player is.

I actually consider him an off tank.
I actually just played a QP game vs a stack of counterswapping sweatlords in quickplay that made it seem like Mauga is the most meta character in the game, so some people hate him because he can just run over players that aren’t good at the game.
I knew it wouldn’t take you long to complain (again) about tanks. LOL!
He’s a main tank because he’s the one that leads a fight, what with the charging in and picking a target to jump and all
Having his team jump a target with him would be ideal since Mauga gives them the buff with his cardiac thing
He needs to be played in a specific way to get the best out of. The real symptom of this problem is too many idiots having spent so much time playing Rein.

His ult is pretty good, if he ever gets it. Especially since you’re probably not gonna see Sombra around to insta bust it with her own.
