Continuing the discussion from Overwatch 2 Retail Patch Notes – May 14, 2024:
I play with at the same time. Unless the gaming population is totally different from one week to the other, I met more or less the same people.
I cannot explain why there are streaks but imo, its up to the matchmaker to avoid that feeling of “wow I’m really getting worse even if I play regularly the same hero” to a winning streak with the same hero. It makes me feel either I have super unlucky/lucky days or something’s off with the matchmaker.
And yes, currently the matchmaker works in some way but maybe they could end up updating it. Since May 24th, it should avoid losing streaks. The fact I could lose so many games in one day to win so many others in the other tells me, something went wrong.
So I’m doomed to play in low ranks. Hopefully I’ll be put in Bronze 5 so I won’t bother anymore.
This is how I feel : either I belong to sliver and I should get 50% winrate with very little streaks. Either I belong to bronze or gold and my streaks should put me there quicker.
Going from a big losestreak to a big winstreak blurs what rank I should belong imo.
If some win/lose are set on “random” parameters, streaks asks parameters to repeat over and over. So if streaks are still possibly built on those parameters, aka luck ; then ranks arent skill based but luck based and I wish it would change.
If I have Silver3 level, I don’t understand how I could stay gold for 7 seasons and why I’m having rollercoaster streaks.
