Hmm. There’s still a big difference in 250SR of rank. As a 3.5k player, I can annihilate 3250 games. I think a better range would be 100SR. Regardless, this issue with the matchmaker is new. I feel like they relaxed the criteria of finding a match in favour of shorter queue times. Most of my matches have been fairly one sided. From my understanding, they used to try to find a 50% win chance match and then slowly increase the disparity as time went on. My theory is that now they start off with like 47-53% or something and make the 40-60% limit kick in sooner. I’m not a fan of the change at all.
Disagree, I think it honestly takes LONGER to get to your true SR because you are being handicapped into 50% targeted win ratios (i.e. bring put in games with dummies).
It takes me ages to get back to masters… IT IS SUCH A LONG GRIND.
Create a simple visible SR system. Eventually people will be placed where they should be. If you are good you will rise, and if you are weak you will fall…

Nothing new here… when i cary a game its 90% sure that the next one is expecting me to carry again and i literally get bot on my team. We get either stomped because the other team is like 5k SR and we are 2k or my teammates feed like broken a.i bots or a 6dps comp. 2 times… its a coincidence but when it happens 50times its a system.
Blizzard saying its a team game while creating a matchmaking system that expects you to carry instead of giving you teammates on the SR level the system think you belong in… Why ewen care? Oh and btw… OW has no real competitive mode. It has a scuffed QP and a normal QP mode. Any other game has real competitive rewards and what does OW have? Nothing and no… a golden weapon is a joke of a reward.

Let’s see… i get into comp, play as either tank or healer, i get dps that don’t know what they are doing and refuse to counter-pick. Check.
I carry a team by literally healing/tanking my bum off, doing several clutches and we win by the brink.
Next game? 4 dps insta picks and refuse to swap.
I can understand that some SR i’ve lost because of me, but when this occurs nearly 2/3 of the games i play, i get suspicious…

just do the right thing
and report the third dps pick
and even the fourth dps pick
this will put an end to this type of problem on ladder
if enough players use the system blizzard gave them
instead of using it in a trolly way wich most do
then accounts that pick third and fourth dps regardless of team comp
would be actioned against and they would stop the behaviour

From my experience, the player who claims that he was given “bad teammates” in my games, is usually by far the worse player on my team.
Over 90% of the times, he will underperform blatantly, but he will use the most unbelievable excuses to justify how everyone else is worse and the matchmaker keeps him 3 leagues below his true SR.
Sometimes, these players can’t even grasp the simple concept of counters. Junkrats getting butchered by pharahs, but refusing to swap and blame the team.
These high performing players usually hit their current skill ceiling, but they do nothing to stay there so they fall like bricks.
I admit this one confused me.
Do you propose to ditch matchmaking altogether?
If you do this, you will turn comp into a stompfest. If stomps are a problem now, it will be 100x worse with your proposed system. The low-mid players will leave in an instant, turning this game to a wasteland with only a tiny population. (Correct me if I misunderstood)
There is a reason every single competitive game out there (not only MMO’s!) has a matchmaker, excluding open tournament formats.
nah I’m using the system the dev’s gave us to get “what the community deems appropriate via community reports”

There is nothing wrong with 3 or even 4 dps comps and by reporting them you are abusing the report system
no i’m not i’m using it as it’s intended to be used
those other 2 dps picks are trolling, one tricking, throwing and not switching.
No by no means is not playing the heros you want them to considered trolling

It’s a coin toss…you have the good team, or the bad team. Thats it. Your skill RARELY has anything to do with it, unless your a top 500 person. If you came for a “Team” game, your gonna leave toxic. This game only promotes hard carries, the rest of us are just here for the Investors numbers.

Skill is such a loose term
Someone can have the mechanical skills of a 2000SR and game sense of 3000SR and they end up stuck at around 2500
Or
Mechanical skills of 3000 and 1000 game sense and be at 2200 SR
These players will play each other and although one play may put shine mechanically they still don’t understand something like regrouping
So if all your teammates are around 2500 you are collectively all actually at that same overall skill given all aspects of the game whether you like it or not
Look at it like your GPA in school
Two people may have a 3.5 GPA but totally different marks in the same subjects

This made me chuckle because it sounds like you are saying you only enjoy the game when you are confident you are going to win. Which would be very sad and is a fine explanation as to why there are so many poor sports playing this game.
If you didn’t have between 40 and 60% win probabilities for each game then the quality of matches would be even worse. Games would have a much higher chance of being steamrolls and would be more unbalanced. I’m not sure why it takes you so long to get back to masters, I can do it within 3 days (and have done so on two accounts back to back last season), yet I’m only a 3.6k player.
