There’s people that claim being spanked by smurfs helps you get good. Bunch of crap of course.
But don’t think it’s sociopaths or scumbags always. My GM friend was a nice guy.
He was just frustrated with the game when he couldn’t affect the outcome. When I told him about my 5-4 Volskaya win with 2 super coordinated teams, he told me only about 5% of his GM games had decent teamwork.
And as a main tank main I’m sure that was very frustrating.
Almost always a godly Zarya at 80% charge all game and 2 trash dps just feeding 1v6 all game.
And there’s Reapers everywhere. They either wade in 1v6 and die, or wade in 1v6 and kill entire enemy team as their dps are crap and can’t counter him.
Got wrecked by Pharmercy one game. mcCree and Soldier were Rein adn Orisa mains. Our Dva was a Mercy main.

I’m just treating it as quickplay 222 and learning new heroes, as me “throwing” isn’t going to make this utter mess any worse.
IMO the game needs more structure, but 2-2-2 was the wrong way to go about it.
Instead of allowing you to have 3 ratings, one for each role, what Blizzard should have done is to allow you to have 2 or 3 slots for teams, each with it’s own rating.
Then you form a team, stick to those players and you’ll gradually improve over time.
With 2-2-2 as it works currently, you wont notice gradual improvement, because the games will remain a coin toss. You’ll either get competent players, or you wont.
You can work on yourself in the meantime though. (Although if games stays as bad as this for more than a few months it’ll be dead).
eg, enemy Hog wrecking us. The 2 dps were Genji and Sombra. Didn’t have the raw damage to take out enemy Hog whilst he took breather or ran back to team.
So my dps essentially threw.
But, I got hooked and one shot 4 times. That’s down to me as I was badly positioned at least 3 of those times.
When your team mates are shocking it’s a good chance to practice a hero against the odds, in the hope that when you do have good tea mates, you ca really excel.
It’s only a “bunch of crap” in the eyes of people who look for things to blame instead of what they can take away from a challenge.
I’ve definitely learned from going against actual smurfs (which aren’t as common as the blaming types would have people believe). If you don’t learn anything from the experience, that’s entirely on you.
Dude even in diamond the dps are terrible .Im a tank main as well and the dps may as well be non existant in diamond .Even yeatle told me my orisa is some of the best he has ever seen and why i was in diamond and then he told me "oh i know why cause you play tank lol " .My take is alot of dps players simply get carried cause they play dps role and when they get to diamond they just not very good or dont have much experience .
Gazzor : Oh yeh dude i agree with im totally .I once played on my mates GM account and it was terrible .played 3 games where players wouldnt switch and raged at each other it was a total @%$$ show .
Yeh man reaper is getting highly annoying .I played a few games in diamond today won most of them but it was just so unenjoyable and the team was raging at each other low elos are way better .

Elobacarcen : the whole match maker needs to be revamped to be honest .because atm it just punishes people who Que with friends and rewards solo Qers with heaps of SR its totally busted to be honest hence why alot of people are just having fun in lower elos .
