"mass res was op and stupid"

Even if it wasn’t able to cast in spawn, it’s well worth it and easy to run out and rez in 2CP. I honestly don’t get all the complains from Mercy mains, while I do agree that a change in play style is frustrating to adapt, she’s literally used very often in the highest levels of play. She’s still very good.

And then there is me and the numerous games I was in where I would hear the friendly mercy go “Heroes never die!” followed by the enemy D.Va going “Nerf this!” I get to watch as the golden light fades away and then my entire team dies.

Then its back to the spawn timer to go back to spawn. With our mercy having wasted her ult.

I get to watch it again later as the play of the game.

Mass res was vulnerable to ult economy, because there were a large number of ults that could be timed to abuse it to rekill the enemy team with no possible counterplay.

Which was the counter to mass res, and why mass res was used for tempo most successfully instead of the big res. Cause the bigger the res, the lower its success rate. Unless the enemy team was stupid and burned resources wastefully.

I vastly prefer single rez over mass rez as someone who plays supports (including mercy) on a regular basis.

Mass rez felt so RNG where you rarely only got 1 or 2 people rezzed at a time. Rarely do you ever rez a entire team, and if you do, the team usually just gets insta-wiped.

Mass rez was just awful.

Her new ultimate is far better combined with a single rez as a ability, and more fun in my opinion.

That’s right, I actually like the new mercy over the boring clunky old mercy. fite me

Mass Ress wasn’t deemed good enough because a Nanoboosted Reinhardt/Genji/Reaper was enough to delete an entire team without the need of other ultimates.

With nanoboost being reduced to less godly hights, Mass Ress became immensively more powerful as it denied 3+ ults needed for the same teamwipe.

Um. You do realize that nanoblade retains basically its full power from pre nerf?

Its not like Genji needs the speed boost when he can dash into your face and has like +30% movement speed when ulting anyway.

Didn’t it get nerfed also in damage reduction value?

Nope. 50% damage reduction. Always was that.

Genji always had 400 HP during nanoblade.

The only nerf Nanboost got was the removal of the speed boost.

Which only effected the Reaper Death Blossom Beyblade and Juggernaut Reinhardt.

I miss juggernaut Reinhardt so much. That was the best watching him roll in through the front door being lucio boosted… Ahhh… good times.

Hog ult lucio boosted and ana nano’d was also completely OD as well. He would move SO FAST. Race car hog.

My bad then.

Rez was only “OP” when the enemy team was stupid and blew all their Ults for a single team push.

Yeah, LoS should have been required earlier (which would also solve the Spawn Rez), but that’s about it.

Mass Rez punished bad battle awareness and lack of common sense.

“Season 39 is now well underway, and it looks like OW’s newest support is really redefining the meta. Yes, the newest hero now claims the highest pick rates, and created a metabased entirely around them being backed up by D.Va, Winston, Tracer and Genji. They really need to tone this new healer down to create more diversity.”

We did ask for an Ana nerf. Biotic Grenade was the single most overloaded ability in the entire game. It was a pocket ultimate on a short cool down. It let Ana match Tranquility’s healing, and it negated enemy healers entirely thanks to its long duration. Don’t pretend it was a bunch of baseless whining to fit your stupid narrative. Twist things somewhere else, you’re going to get called out on doing that here.

Maybe then people shouldn’t have yelled at Mercy’s to hide once they had rez.

Stop this dumb pretend narrative!!!

Literally no one ever said original mercy was op.

No one.

It was unfun and went against the core of what Mercy was supposed to be.

An in your face healer.

Alright, about Resurrect:

It does not work as a cooldown ability. When making a game, every aspect needs to be balanced and fun to use, not a chore. Resurrect is balanced as an E, but it is a chore. Pros are LITERALLY saying that improving with Mercy means ignoring the ability almost entirely.

The best time to use it would be team fights, where u could bring one person back to help turn the tide. But you can’t! It is NOT worth the risk AT ALL! Since it is most likely a DPS, you, a Support, matter much more because you keep others alive. This makes her one key difference in helping her team NULL and VOID.

This is why it needs to be the ultimate. With these changes

Resurrect (Ultimate):

  1. Increase charge: 1650 => 1975.
  2. Remove invuln, replace with 25-50% dog reduction during cast time.
  3. Make cast animation into a 1 sec cast timer.
  4. Require LOS.
  5. Reduce radius to 10m.
  6. Half heal any living teammates upon cast.

Blizz, try this out with Valk’s flight as a 5 sec ability with a 15 sec cooldown. See how it works.

So mercy mains think Mass Rez shouldn’t of been changed just because it was unfun but think she should be changed now because she’s unfun?

Actually, even Jeff himself had admitted to it being overpowered and that they never intended for the game to focus so much on the use of one ability (see: resurrect). Everyone under the sun, including Mercy mains, knew mass rez was broken, lol. If you played during the age of Mercy getting a 5 man rez, you know how broken it was.

Sure, it was “unfun”, but it was “unfun” because it was broken.

Statistically speaking she was underpowered as of the moment of the rework. She was the least picked support at high levels, even lower than post nerf Ana. Chew on that for a moment.

In terms of ladder play, she was 3rd place out of 4 supports, with Ana being absolutely terrible. There was absolutely no evidence that she was OP.

So you think that Mercy should have been changed because Mass Rez was unfun, but she shouldnt be changed now because she is unfun?

It works both ways.
