I feel exactly that when watching that game it clearly has overwatch design language every where from UI to playstyles but everything feels upgraded.

I’ll never read it. Call me when Netflix turn it into a series.
Interesting bit to include in a review lol… it’s an online game, toxicity of that nature is right around the corner once the player base starts establishing a meta and hierarchies of skill begin to form.
That’s cool
I’ll keep an eye on it… not sure if I’ll play any of the early access (assuming I ever got a key). Might try it once it fully releases.
If there is anyone that would kill OW it would those dev and in suits. I on other hand would love to see more hero shooters. More than multi-players i would love to see more single-player hero shooters.
Digital Extremes should bring back The Amazing Eternals. It looked amazing and sadly got canned due to OW popularity.
I do hope Marvel Rivals succeed and hopefully compete against OW. What OW needs is more competition.
Its because those companies are chasing money instead of trying to put out an enjoyable piece of art.
That’s fair, toxicity is inevitable and I did say I want less of it, because we all know it can’t be completely stamped out. But I also expressed how I believe game design should help mitigate some of the toxicity, because frustrating game design makes people more toxic than they would otherwise be. I’ve seen that with many competitive games, they get morphed into frustration machines that make people rage at each other, and it kills games just as much as cheaters and smurfs.
Do try it if you get a chance, I think for an alpha stage it’s pretty good. Yes, it has many areas that need work, but comparing it to a game that’s been out for almost a decade, and Overwatch has had so much feedback all these years that I see as inexcusable that it has become the burning trashcan that it is today. Almost all the magic that made it fun in the first place has been stripped out and Team 4 needs to do an Overwatch rework, kind of like WoW Classic but without the subscription BS.
You can destroy the map AND walk on the roof.
GG OW.
This is the most interesting thing about the game that has the most potential for me. All I’ve read about it is RocketRacoon jumping on Groots shoulders. With clear cut combos with characters with VERY established lore, players might be more inclined to team-up instead of playing the COD style I see too much of in OW. I’d like to see more info on the combos like that and how far they could stack. Maybe Starlord and Mantis join too and make a 4-stack? Doing this would not only emphasize teamplay but put more of an importance on team composition, which I feel OW hasn’t done a good job of teaching the casual player what synergizes best.
It being in third person might make it easier to be a tank/Vanguard as well, having a better idea of who’s with you.
