Marvel announcing 6v6 overwatch clone tomorrow

NetEase’s track record on monetizing games isn’t something to hold your breathe over.

So expect a cash grab.

New superheroes gated behind BP? Check.
Egregious skin cost? Check. (albeit the Cowboy Bebop ones are cool)
Insane timesink for free to play? Check.

The cash is going to be grabbed so far down our pockets, we won’t even feel it.

Thats a fair point. His wasnt though. Take that as you will

Are we feeling it now though?

Name a good marvel game that isnt spiderman

Lol

Yikes. Sucks he wasn’t played and I’m not surprised at the fact it was a copy. That was quite obvious imo.

Hopefully the game is decent despite all that. I’m surprised they didn’t make the guy sign an NDA

I think regardless of what anyone thinks, it’s going to force the OW devs to make their game better. Because, honestly, we have OW and Paladins and that’s really it for the hero shooter market. I guess you can count R6, but the average OW player is brought to tears by the fact they actually have to get good to play R6.

Probably won’t be the game to dethrone OW like so many people seem to think, but I think it has the potential to be good competition for OW.

This is a big point, specifically the the que time argument. If this game even takes only 20% of OW’s player population at launch, que times are going to be astronomical and people will start to quit because they don’t want to wait 10 minutes for a match. Hell, there are some people I know who get upset at 5 minute que times. It’ll just be a massive snowball effect. I think the shills that currently keep this game alive will still come back or they’ll never try Rivals to begin with and just stick with OW because they feel safer with it.

THX Marvel, finally OW get’s some competition, this can only improve things. Either they fix their own game or there is finally a worthy alternative.

Iron Man literally said: “It’s nano time”, and then nanoed all over the place.

11/10.

I like that combo. Liked it when Rocket could sit on Groot. I wished OW had something like this. Like if we could sit on Orisa and she can ride us to war or to safety.

I do hope that sys reqs would be same has OW.

It kinds feels like a OW game that OW should have strived to be. Be in OW3.

They didn’t pay him.

Midnight Suns, Marvel Snap, and Guardians of the Galaxy are three fairly recent and great Marvel games.

How do people think marvel rivals is an OW competitor ?
It’s a 3rd person arcade combo brawler where every ability is a damn ultimate.

It looks utterly pointlessly awful as a pvp game. I mean I hate what they did to OW as much as the next guy, but saying that disney train wreck is somehow going to compete with ow (or any pvp game really) is kinda crazy.

Overwatch does all of those things.

You only seen a trailer and acting like you know everything about the game.

its made by netease lol

your not only going to get a battlepass but you will need to buy heroes. id be so surprised if the company largely behind diablo immortal didnt make the most P2W overwatch clone on the planet.

i want it to be good because this would give ow some competition but at the same time im not a fan of netease and their business practices

people like to flame blizzard but net ease is way worse

technically they used too:

all overwatch heroes are free starting season 10 because it was getting a lil to p2w for peoples taste

there is nothing wrong with a game having a BP and paid cosmetic’s but they put the heroes behind a paywall, particularly if its supposed to be a competitive hero shooter…its not gonna work out very well for a new title.

overwatch was able to get over that hump because it had 7 years of brand loyalty behind it.

no matter how bad blizzard might be sometimes, they have never been as bad as netease

its like comparing a pickpocket too the former CEO of unity. both are trying to rob you, but one is doing it on a much larger scale

In other words: You have absolutely not a clue, but you are guessing.

And that is fine! One could even say it is valid input.

But let us know that that is what you are doing, not talk as if this is an absolute certainty when it obviously is not.
I would be more careful with my credibility.

You really think a game that Marvel is ‘just announcing’ is going to do that?

Blizzard already HAS competition in the market. Plenty of it, actually, and yet people still play and the game is improving.

They don’t have to worry about a newly announced Marvel game that, at best, is a year away from release, possibly 2 or more.

This would suggest all isn’t Rosey with it either.
