Make Rez an earned ability

They dont have to. Taking damage does not equal death. Same thing happened for emp in Korea.

I don’t want Mercy reverted. And realistically, that’s never going to happen.

I would want resurrect to be an earned ability. If she heals or damage boosts, or has to use her pistol, she should get her resurrect back up in 30 seconds, like it is now.

But she shouldn’t be rewarded for idle time. She shouldn’t be halfway through her cooldown just for walking back to a fight. This would eliminate the frequency of her being able to undo a kill across the map simply after walking out of spawn.

It would reward Mercy actively participating in a fight and punish her dying by making it harder to earn her resurrect back.

your only examples are extremely useful ultimates that have a high potential to win team fights. rez isnt as strong as any of those so i dont think the entire meta will change around hurting yourself to gain it

It is. It really is you make the fight a 7v6 potentially a 8v6. Again there is no point in arguing we will never reach common ground.

If the fight is made a 7v6 or 8v6 then your DPS need to assess their capacity in taking out a target that is essentially stunned in place for 2.75 seconds.

Mercy players have been asking for this for the last year. Would be nice to have it be earned so that players aren’t constantly berating for a rez.

well i feel putting rez on a charge where it will take longer than 30 seconds (since you earn it by fighting not waiting) to fill wont be more powerful than it already is, you disagree so i guess we cant find common ground

Doesn’t make it any less unfun.

Of course it’s exaggerated, but theoretically the best way to use it. You don’t need to avoid threats if you can stay far away from it, while still healing and such.
Also this is stuff other heroes can do without even using an Ult and Mercy is also more than capable to be just as effective without Val.

If i play Mercy i never use Val and i still get cards at the end of a match for assists, healing and that. Realistically speaking Valkyrie is nothing but a easy mode, which is also very badly polished.
And E res, also just to easy to use and contradicts her gameplay massively.

If you like that, cool. I just don’t understand that, because every version of Mercy before her revert was far more skilful, difficult and thrilling.
This version is just LMB, stay save and hide. Nothing i would write stories about.

First of all…
I study Nano tech and i can tell you that we have much healthier and easier way’s to cure cancer nowadays. Just taking it out will be the past fairly soon.

Anyway, calling Mass Res cancer is just wrong it never was a problem until Ana and Lucio were over nerfed. On top of that the SR exploit, Dive comp and so on. The revert now is the thing which is hurting the entire game. Resurrect Mercy was infact one of the best balanced heroes of the game, like Reinhardt.
Only streamers forced that opinion that “Mass Res is BS”.
And it was very easy to fix. As i said cast, no invulnerability and such things. no problem to implement.

Saying that it was unfixable is ignorant and the negative effects of that ignorance are still very apparent.

rez was balanced… when it was an uult.

They fixed it by reworking her.

Mercy’s mass rez could have been given a LOS requirement. It would stop rezzing behind walls completely, but instead they put it on a cd and made it massively op for several months.

On top of that, mass rez actually becomes less reliable the higher the rank compared to her current ult. Valk gives her more survivability and lets her use it whenever she sees fit while mass rez could be constantly denied by team mates not grouping, people dying too slowly, and mercy dying before a wipe.

But at lower sr or against uncoordinated team, rez was good and especially useful when you have that one enemy dps main who constantly gets team wipes. It helped weaker teams stop the snowball from rolling down a mountain and constantly loose the ult charge battle.

Plus mass rez really does provide a nice adrenaline rush when trying to save your team. Valk has the rush of a water break, really. Of course, I’m an Ana main so maybe I’m biased here because back then Ana was still a better pick at high rank, but I filled Mercy far more often leading up to her rework than I do now.

You know what would be cool? If Mercy had an ultimate called “Ressurect”. Wow, I really think that could work!

The Revert which made her a permanent must pick through more than 5 seasons, increased the frustration for many players playing against her, killed the support balance, made her ridiculously boring and far to easy to play, the most nerfed hero in the game (nerfs which did virtually nothing) and which created a s*** ton of design issues which now cause very inconsistent and unreasonable game changes?

If you think that the revert fixed anything (I give you a tip: It only created more problems and fixed nothing) than i can’t help you.

Yes. All of that has been better than mass rez.
