Agreed. Also, we need to stop asking devs to bring characters out and just let them tell the story, as they have been doing. LGBTQ+ representation is so important to me but I wouldn’t want random announcements.

Also this. I personally ship characters based on chemistry more than anything. Genji and Mercy are clearly very close, and I think their little interactions are adorable. Nice to know they’re going ahead with it in OW2 despite the claims that the OW team are “homophobic” for not making Pharmercy a couple.

i’ve always been a big pharmercy fan but yea im realistic and thats just a ship people made up

the genji and mercy relationship seems wholesome and most likely will happen if they expand on lore

Indeed. For 5 years, believe it or not, there was no lore for Overwatch. Most of us needed to use headcanon to fill in the gaps before they started expanding the story past when they gathered for the first time.

pharmercy is a gameplay thing. she needs pharah for vertical mobility.

canon mercy can fly by herself at ridiculous speeds. she needs no such crutch. and the devs decided to give mercy a genji romance.

Besides. I don’t think mercy knows pharah that well in the lore.

Genji is bi and had a crush on Mercedes when she saved his life but because she turned him into a living weapon hes like kinda ick about it and got over it by bonding with cyborg Cowboy during blackwatch. He then ended up catching feelers for Cowboy but Cowboy is emotionally unavailable and an alcoholic and Mercedes is kind of a despotic egomaniac under the thin veneer of altruist angel so Ninja babie just spends his time crying and feeling angsty with Hana and Lucio because they also are rich AF, lgbt+, and like to party to “cope” with their ptsd etc… struggling to breathe I love Bi Genji with my whole heart
