Game freezing with Intel i3 / Dual core CPUs

true

sadly we can’t comp with those drops

It is 4 as well… .-.

Just a quick heads up, -threads 2 is not a valid command line argument/parameter for overwatch as far as i know/can tell

You would want to try --tank_WorkerThreadCount 2 / --tank_WorkerThreadCount 4 (copy and paste if in doubt)

I assume this parameter came about from Overwatch 1 / ow2 looks to be built on ow1 (or same structure).

Sorry the the late reply, my resolution is 1920x1080, fps is capped at 49, and borderless or fullscreen, after each crash it resets the resolution and screen mode.

like i said yesterday it does with mines too reset res and .

MEDIUM SETTINGS I know you want to ultra 144 this bad boy but lets see if we can get you some games. slow and steady

same as before set up your stuff shut down all other stuff
see if task manger says mem used is about 3.5gb or less

load battle.net/ cog wheel (game settings)/app/
in this menu there a few things to or atleast i did
a) “on launch of game” exit battle.net completely

then down to overwatch 2 and copy this into command line. (I know its 3 just try it! not 2 not 4.)

Blockquote - -tank_WorkerThreadCount 3
EDIT and I mean copy not correct your 2 or 4 or what ever.

hit launch
see how long you get in qp games avoid training room.

If you crash take me a dxdiag while games crashed there may be other software giving issues.

Will do, I’ll try all this right now, if i crash during a qp I’ll get you the dxdiag file to look at.

Yup, same issue here. Clean OW2 install on 2nd SDD, even upgraded my RAM, but I’m running 2-core i3 with hyperthreading and getting hard freezes in 1-3 games.

Hiya folks, any update today or same old same old so far?

A staff member replied to the thread yesterday, and that’s about it, otherwise no, not really.

you dont have any crash codes for ow…

you have a few vgtray i have them also

but you have evogamesteam.exe (gundam evolution)

  1. can you shut down steam.
2)check task manager sort by name and see if there are any processes for
    for both
EvoGameSteam-Win64-Shipping.exe or anything that sounds like that just stop service

and make sure stream is closed in task manager

you can double check this in
task manager click name twice (the first splits apps and background apps, the 2nd click sorts by name)
check the background processes.

In windows search bar “Startup apps” steam will be listed there uncheck it

in windows search bar “background apps” have a look through that list
TRIM THE FAT

reboot from scratch
open task manager check another time
re run test.

dumb question are you running a overclock? on the cpu?

I have been able to play at least 10 games fully stable when I switched from Lutris to Bottles, and used Caffe runner.

And I have one thing to say about this game, and its gameplay.

Its the best game, ever. The end. Thank you.
