Lucio is kinda dead to me now

This last patch seems to be it. Yeah the boops nice, sure, wall ride.

He feels stuck in the mud otherwise (same issue I have with Bap) and just…meh?

Feels bad. All I have left is fat shatters, and Zen.

I played him today. Killed the enemy Ana a few times. Wasted beat on our overextended Rein. Booped Roadhog away from my sleeping teammate. Escorted a few peeps back to point. You know, the usual. Nothing really different from the norm.

Yeah, it’s not like he’s changed, just slower?

I’m fine playing him but… Jfc he feels useless on my team for speed. Like, it’s not worth anything. I don’t like having him on my team and I stopped playing him

Back when they gave Hammond a speed nerf it was very hard for me to play him. He’s fixed a bit now, they’ve adjusted it back up, but I get what you mean - however, you also need to consider the real and objective possibility that Lucio was too fast to begin with and this version of him is the version that is more equitable to the game and your fellow players. Lucio doesn’t feel super OP to me, but he’s also really hard to kill because he’s so ridiculously fast and can wall ride to places I can’t reach. He’s got a lot going for him, especially as a healer.

All fine observations, but if you’re someone that played him from literally open beta, he’s just not the same, and physics are really important to me, in regards to Lucio.

They had to kill him to kill goats. He is in a terrible state now… is even say it would be worth moving him to dps and changing a few bits - if they’re going to leave him in this state

Lucio was never too fast. He just had a monopoly of it. Similar to how mercy has a monopoly of Rez. If she replaced Rez with a solo bubble that granted a speed boost (like preists in wow), suddenly, that speed seems weaker.
Speed is great but it will always be the best so long as he is the only one with it. But it doesn’t mean speed was the issue.

How can you even say that?!
Lucio’s got the biggest buff on his history.

Those ungrateful tadpoles…
This is all I could ever ask Blizzard do to him.

Frankly considering speed is so powerful in the game doesn’t it make sense to do things that would lower his speed, especially in terms of how his team is boosted, since he’s giving that ability to the other players around him? It kind of creates the problem of requiring a Lucio on both sides in order to simply counter that one Lucio pick, which isn’t really how the choices on who you play should shake out imo?

I mean Mercy used to be able to res her whole team and now she’s a sitting duck doing it for one bloke, so it’s not like we haven’t seen monopoly abilities lessened and weakened before in other characters…

He feels pretty strange with the low speed. But imo it’s still really strong mainly because it’s uniqueness.

I FELT the slower speed as an non-Lúcio character and man… it hurts

I feel the same about Sym and Mercy so I feel ya. I never played Lucio, I’ve tried him a couple times and it’s just not for me. I hate wall riding lol. I’m not trying to say they didn’t do him wrong, I’m just glad that he won’t be able to speed boostio the enemy quite as much, as it felt very impossible to compete with if you didn’t have a lucio on your team.

People who don’t play that much Lucio will feel much more than Main Lucios or One-Tricks.

It is a nerf “overall” for regular Lúcio’s. For someone who applied hours and hours on rollouts and is pretty much used to “never touch the floor”, this is marvelous and I’ll keep abusing it until it gets nerfed - because it will.

It’s way too powerful. This makes me so happy. It feels like all the hours I’ve applied practicing him FINALLY got a bonus now. He’s fast af on walls.
And that boop buff is AMAZING. The speed reduction on aura isn’t a big deal tbh.

You’re not only a pain to kill, you’re just 2x more difficult to. Contest Lúcio is the new meta!
This makes me hopeful to (finally) hit masters!

Mercy s Rez was also a switch to a different design of the game. This switch doesn’t change the function of speed, just the power.

And Lucio being a must pick generally falls to metas. But those tend to rely not on just speed. Lucio isn’t a must pick if all heroes are viable.

I’m not very fond of Lucio being nerfed because if you’re already fast, speed isn’t that noticed. Tracer and Winston don’t need it. But roadhog does. Ana does. It makes them fit when they normally can’t. If you don’t want speed being useful , then like mercy, remove it from being an aoe. Change the whole mechanic. Don’t lower his power flat.

You can finally boop D.Vas away!

Yes! And Orisa’s ò.Ó
Time for revenge!

Once you hit Masters, riding that wall gets you picked off and dead.

EDIT: Maybe its different on console as you dont have to deal with keyboard/mouse aim as much.

his wall jumping was fast as hell on the PTR when they fixed the bug that slowed him down. felt like it balanced him out.

now it sounds like he’s heavy again.

Maybe, just maybe.
But the way you’re playing Lúcio, you should adapt. This is great news and I think you might be over-reacting. This is a blessing, not a nerf.
