I have my PC connected to both my monitor and my TV. My monitor is native 1440p and the TV is 4k. Starting with this season’s patch, if I’m using the computer on the TV and then switch displays and move to my desk, I get like 45 FPS in Overwatch. Tried checking my desktop resolution which was at 1440p as normal. Also tried lowering my in-game resolution scaling to 50% and it didn’t increase FPS even a little bit. The only thing that fixed it was restarting my PC.
Obviously it’s not the end of the world, I can still get it to work fine, but it’s annoying and didn’t happen until the most recent update.
I don’t think this is a problem with Overwatch itself, there’s a bug with Windows 11 I think that messes up the fps in some games when you switch displays… I have the same issue in other games and was looking for a solution just now…
Edit: If you have G-Sync activated try disabling it, that fixed it for me … You main monitor probably supports G-Sync but the TV doesn’t or vice versa, and when you make the switch it bugs out and gives you low fps, at least that’s my guess…
