'Lost Connection to Game Server'

Which continent are you playing from?

are you actually acting like you’re helping? i have the same issue going on and you guys keep suspending me for it. it’s the battle.net app that keeps losing connection to the server. has nothing to do with the at home connection. it’s all on your end. stop playing us

I am trying to assist the OP. I cannot see their IP as a staff member can, so I have to ask a lot of questions.

I have no idea what you’re talking about concerning your suspensions since I have nothing to do with that.

go help my ticket then

Lol, I’m not your servant, and the forum is not a ticket system. It’s a community area for players to help each other, with occasional input from staff. Good luck with your issue.

okay, apologies, Karen. I would like help from someone else then.

You didn’t provide the minimum data for anyone to help you with a connection issue in your thread. Please stop derailing the OP’s thread with this nonsense which doesn’t help them.

Im connecting from Europe

Okay, you’ll want to collect a WinMTR. Here are the IPs you’ll need to use:

185.60.114.159
185.60.112.157

I have no idea what a WinMTR is and what to do with those IPs

The issue appears to be packet loss between your neighborhood hub and the ISP network. I noted the nodes above where the loss is first occurring. Right away, 8 packets are disappearing in the ISP network (dropped). I imagine if you ran this longer, you’d see more packet loss.

Thanks for your efforts, but I don’t know what any of that means and how it can help me connect to Blizzard’s sh1tty servers

If means your ISP has a poor connection, as demonstrated by the test results. You’d need to work with them to improve it.

I can play every other game, why can’t Blizzard fix their servers so they’re the same as everything else?

Again, your test data directly shows a problem with the ISP. I can’t comment on other games you play or why they work better. They might be hosted elsewhere, meaning a different connection route. But your issue has nothing to do with the quality of the Blizzard servers, only your ISP’s nodes.

why they work at all*
I think Blizzard’s servers should work for everyone, I shouldn’t have to jump through a million hoops to play a game. Blizzard should create their servers in a way that works for everyone, like every other game has.
Essentially Blizzard have stolen the money I paid for Overwatch 1, giving me a replacement that doesn’t work.

Server is a broad term. Blizzard owns the hardware the game is running on, but that hardware lives inside a Network Operations Center (NOC). Most gaming companies will own the hardware. That said, I don’t know of any games that own their NOC, but I’d be interested to learn about some.
