Lost Connection to Game Server - Penalty

Hi there,

Searching game then finding, entering and start fighting but then suddenly looks like everybody freeze in the game and in a few seconds turn back to the main screen and then says “Lost Connection to Game Server”.

For this reason, i have a penalty and -%75 XP and im not feeling ok because there is no fun if i cant see the end of the game and cant earn any xp.

The error message means something between your computer or console and the servers did not connect. But any time you leave a match, even if it was the fault of your ISP, your 5 other teammates are affected. What do you need help with? You only described that you disconnected and have a penalty… all of that is normal.

i just had 4 matches, only one let me finish and i have had “failed to connect to server” 3 other times kicking me from the match.
my internet is completely fine. i’ve checked. it’s not my memory or processing. i’m pretty sure it’s something to do with the overwatch server.
it’s telling me im about to be penalized if i leave another match. im not leaving. i’m being kicked from the server. and now i feel like i can’t even risk trying to play again because i’m going to be penalized for trying to have fun.

I couldn’t access the game as well for 2 days. It said “Lost connection to game server” at “Entering game” phase. I can play other games (PoE) Singapore normally.

These two hops are showing issues. No hostnames, so it could be the hop between your ISP and Blizzard. You probably take different routes for the other games and that’s why they work fine.

I am literally having the same issue! T_T Whenever I log on, within a minute or two I will get kicked off with it saying “Lost connection to game server” This has happened once, however it worked the next day. Now it’s happened again but been going on for 2 days straight. I’ve tried to restart router, uninstall and reinstall, update drivers, and many other said options to go about this situation and I don’t have a clear idea on why this is happening. My internet is direct connect and I’m having no issues getting online so I’m not sure what is causing this issue. It would be greatly appreciated if I can get some sort of help on this or how to solve it.

Please investigate it, start playing a game admins, please, you will see and monitor by yourself. We all have same problem with disconnects while playing comp games.

I am having the same issues. Did everything I could on my end. So frustrating.

I’m not an administrator, but I have been playing most of this week with zero disconnects. It’s possible you all have a related connection problem, but the servers are up and running with no issues. Again, any time you post about a connection issue you need to include a Winmtr.

It looks like you are getting some wireless interference. I’d suggest testing the connection while plugged directly into the modem with an ethernet cable, or swapping the channel and frequency of the wifi.

It is not my cnnection problems. Problems are only with Blizzard games, not my ping or isp, i am not noob and i will not add anymore winmtr logs, oone care of anyway. Just letting know that Blizzard is losing players, not may case.

Everytime i queue in a game i get lost connection from game server. And i got penalty for something thats not even my fault. This game is just not playable

I have a penalty for a whole hour because playstation network error and then i tried joining back and the penalty showed up😑
