"LOST CONNECTION TO GAME SERVER" at game launch

Hi,

Since updating my game today after returning from holiday (last played two weeks ago), I’ve tried to run the game from battle.net. However, the login screen attempts to connect to the server, gives a big “LOST CONNECTION TO GAME SERVER” message in red, and will go ad nauseum (or ask for my login credentials) without ever logging in. Closing the game at this point will cause the little whirring login screen noise to continue in the background without any visible program running, which I must then close with Task Manager. Haven’t been able to get the game to play and am really bummed. Next steps?

Not sure if it’s a connection issue or performance issue. I’d recommend trying both sets of troubleshooting and if you’re still experiencing it, we can take a look at your dxdiag file for errors.
