Got disconnected from an Overwatch Competitive match. Rejoined, my team won, and I lost about 50 competitive points. How is that remotely fair?
You missed the 2 minute timer.
You must return to the match within 2 minutes to avoid any penalty. Any later the game presumes you will not return and allow your teammates to forfeit if they feel the match is a lost cause (obviously it was not in this case). However this rule ensures that those who leave deliberately do not attempt to return when they think the match is about to end to order to avoid getting suspended.

Simply put, if you do return quickly enough, it does not matter if your team wins or not, your account will be marked with the loss and penalty. Details here:
