This, if a winners Que exist then by default a loser’s Que does too LOL
There is a way to trigger the winners and losers queue aswell. Just play about 20 matches doing as much damage as you can but dont die. Do not swap heroes for all 20.
Yes, something like that has been my experience. Basically performing really well for your tier triggers something that causes a string of matches that are incredibly easy to win, which will almost always be followed by a string of losses after you lose your first match.
Yea, the key tho is to never swap and dont play to win. Play to survive, the hard steam roll losses where your team gets 0 elims. Try to never ever die on those. Eventually it will look like 20-2 for the enemy your team 0-10 but then you will have like 3-0. Your mmr doesnt tank and it gets you back to winning faster.
Now this does take skill to do because as you climb the ranks especially in higher elo all those players are playing the same.
Its actually how ow is ment to be played, doing as much as possible without ever dying.
This also teaches proper positioning and mechanics in the long run.
What sucks though is old accounts take forever for it to move you up the ranks.
The game already seemed to like to give you teammates who are on huge lose streaks.
If anything this just makes the game more intolerable to actual people who are not smurfs, on their main account, trying to rank up.
The better you do individually the more likely you’re going to get screwed by the game and here’s the simple reason to why:
As long as there are easy to buy, comp ready accounts, and a high frequency of cheaters… The best case scenario is legitimate players are going to be seeing throwers/cheaters/people who can’t win a game no matter what placed on their team to be expected to carry.
Every statistic and account that’s a smurf or habitually thrown games have skewed the rankings in such a way that legitimate players are destined to have absolutely terrible match quality no matter what so that smurfs and cheaters and throwers can have a good time.
I’ve seen there’s a gamebreaking bug where bad actors can bug out the match maker to plant a wintrader on the enemy team. I’ve encountered situations where I believe this could still be happening.
The game is not worth the time or the money.
No thanks.
Well, it’s great news that they’re working to fix it. Can’t wait to play a few and see if I can notice a difference.
Question is, what other busted matchmaking elements exist?
My experience as well.
My experience as well. The thing is I don’t care if people don’t like losing streaks and losing 100 times in a row. If you don’t try to get better every time you play and you don’t take the game serious you should go down to bronze where you belong. You shouldn’t get the opportunity to ruin 9 other peoples game encouraged by the matchmaker. The game’s competitive. If you can’t compete then you should play QP or deal with being low ranked.
It doesn’t make you a better player by being able to throw a bunch of games then feel good about winning the next one cause everyone else on your team was playing 5x better than you were.
In fact the worst part is it makes you worse. Nobody who loses 10 times in a row is going to learn anything about the game because they got carried in a game they shouldn’t have even been in let alone won
they finally admit something ppl knew for years and games should stop with that mmr , just put gold against gold without taking care if they play better monday or tuesday .
Are we talking comp or QP? Comp is supposed to be matching per role now, so players should be relatively closely matched unless there is absolutely nothing available in the queue.
For QP, sometimes that’s just going to happen. For example, I had just come off an incredibly busy and intense 14 hour shift after a sleepless night prior. After getting home and showering I wanted to play some Overwatch to decompress before bed. So I load up for some QP and immediately get queued into a high-Masters/low GM equivalent game. Now that’s a bit above my normal queue range but not unreasonably so as I’ve gotten queued like that from time to time. But that night I was exhausted and without any warmup time and did poorly. On a different day if I’d been rested and warmed up, I probably would have been fine.
There’s not really a great way to avoid that when the matchmaker is set to prioritize fast queues.
It is great news, I’m ready for them to actually resolve the REAL issues with the matchmaking so I can start defending it and telling people they can’t rank up because they’re actually bad. What the devs don’t realize is I am “that guy” to tell people they need to improve when they are excuse making, but I can’t justify saying that when the system is broken. The amount of time and effort and broken matchmaking it took me to get to the highest ranks was absurd, not to mention the ongoing issues I face.
I’ve been screaming this since season 9 with the multipliers and no one said a thing. Now they validate my point of them knowing if you’re gonna win or lose before the game even starts. I think most people are missing that not much has changed this season besides transparency. It’s been this way for a while now, some people are just more perceptive. Personally i noticed i started losing more after being banned for a week from vc for sh*t talking my team. Now i can’t get passed plat 3 without falling back to gold, Always after a win streak of 6 or more! Too sus…
They have always calculated which team has the higher probability of winning since ow1.
In ow1 you gained less SR if you won against a team that was calculated to have lower mmr average than yours.
It is nothing new, and completely expected.
For them to set up teams who both have fully equal MMR would mean much longer queue times than what we have now.
But when the discrepancy is so large that after the game they’re like “yeah we figured you were gonna lose, here’s a consolation”, was the extra minute or two of wait times that much of an issue? I get impatience and gamers go hand and hand, long wait times can’t be every rebuttal to this argument. At that point your punishing the player base for not being willing to wait a little longer.
I played ow1, the player base is bigger and on average smarter game knowledge wise now. I think it’ll be fine or not as bad as ppl think
Or on the other side of the same hand, would you rather wait a bit longer or play a full push game into both teams overtime, you win, then get slapped with a “expected” multiplier and lose overall sr just because the mmr is that different at the start of the game, before anyone even chose heroes, aswell as (now we know) someone on the other team lost their last 4 games in a row, And that’s your fault for maybe being an impatience player who’d rather just queue faster then play on more even, fair ground.
I know you can’t always get it exact but when the gap is notable… it’s it still fair? They wouldn’t adjust your rank if it were, they’ve made it clear they’ll always take more sr then they give. Notice you’re loss steaks hurt more than you’re win steaks help.
for context i mean comp and the week i played last season i had an 80+% WR on tank, in P4 (i used to play in high diamond/low masters but dont give OW much time so i guess decay then the reset shrugs) and went on something like a 15 win streak and I decided to play a game how many game could i win
well as you can imagine i won a lot, with win streak giving 22% instead of 20%… and as you can imagine, the more I won the worse my team mates got.
I mean like waiting 6 seconds to get a heal while being the only one under pressure, or like people hiding so far back pushing in is like isolating myself, BUT still managed to keep winning, that was around win 10 btw. Never said i word to anyone except when going a direction.
Then it started giving me toxic people lol, whom i still managed to win with, but they were not just toxic, the were stupid and toxic and i still managed to win more lol
after all of that i lost 2 and just quit again, absolute trash game (i just like to check in once in a while), i went from p4 → p2 on a massive win streak, just to earn ‘toxic people’ and you couldn’t pay me to continue climbing back.
Just to see the devs admit they are staging things after being gaslit by fanboys for years, like how people can sit there after reading this and act like the MM isn’t inventing problems it doesn’t need to.
my q’s the whole time were instant like 5 seconds as tank.
I just uninstalled and i havent had to deal with anything OW related like the MM.
but ill come check again in 3-4 months, who knows, maybe by then the devs will learn what competitive integrity is, or they will get fired by MS and we can try to get some better people in charge.
Hope your matches are good!
and people will gaslight you about this.
like im not perfect, not even close, but this aint that and when it is i notice and try to do better or switch, thats how i got a decent rank in the first place
So the fact that the front page of dexerto is saying the same information about loser’s Que is just trolling along right😂 The cope with some members that have gaslight for so long has no end
It’s only bad if you expect to win every match. You don’t have to carry the potatoes, just take the L and move on. It’s a video game. Do your best and have fun.
When my team are constantly feeding, I like to go Lucio and speed them back into the grinder over and over. It’s actually kind of hilarious to watch it happen. These players have to be bots to actually be this terrible.
I’m not carrying bots, lol. I’ll pad my deaths stat with a big fat zero (small victories) while they play Rambo with the entire enemy team repeatedly.
Sure but going from an 80% win rate to a 30% win rate is trash
Doesn’t matter. That part of your rank is only cosmetic. You win a game you get 20 or so percent. You lose a game you lose 21 or so percent. It may count your deaths and healing and elims, at the end of the match you lose or win the same and if you performed opposite.
Also sounds like you’re a troll no one expects you to carry… just to try.
SO essentially you are punished for winning frequently with a higher likelihood of having someone on a loss streak on your team… Hmmmmm almost like we have talked about this for years and were called crazy? HMMMMMM???
