i would argue this, just because hes easy to use, doesnt mean hes easily countered. hes hardly a bad dps pick.
while i agree to an extent, just because t500 hasnt popularized a theoretical problem, doesn’t mean it doesn’t exist.
you know the t500 weaponize us to get what they want for a level of game most of us will never see right?
He’s a great pick in low elo on all the old choke maps. In fact he is one of the top DPS picks down here and very, very effective by simply hiding out of sight of the choke and random spamming into it. Lowest skill strat which wins games at low elo.
they were going to make his trap much weaker than it was, now they’re making nerfs on other aspects of it. either way they seem concerned with how it’s functioning, since it’s the only freezing ability still left in the game. everything else is simply about balancing dps/heal numbers, they probably think that’s less dire of a concern, because it can be done through regular balance patches.
i heard they also increase trap damage?
from 80 to 100
atleast i heard it from someone, never actually test it
Which is why its stupid they nerfed it to begin with
To varying degrees Junkrat is countered by:
Dva, Zarya, Sigma, Ashe, Lucio, Bap, Kiriko, Echo, Genji, Hanzo, Pharah, Sojourn, S76, Mccree, Widow and Tracer.
Or a shorter way of putting it: Around half of the roster.
Ive seen it many many many many many times
(3000+ hours of Junkrat in OW1, about 60 hours of Junk in OW2 so far)
LUCIO?!?!!? I feel like ur just pulling heroes out of ur bum now bc they can shoot junkrat. ranged hitscan + flyers tho ofc.
he probably is, hes low key trying to say junkrat sucks, but hes actually pretty good, and puts out great dps numbers, with a powerful ultimate.
yeah… junkrat is not that bad rn. when you have jake a legit junkrat main OWL coach saying he’s A tier, you know he’s not BAD.
not OP tho for sure.
A tier isn’t even close to bad. that is great.
In terms of as a team speed counters his spam as your team can quickly close the distance/clear the choke although it does rely on coordination. In terms of a 1v1…You’re just not beating a good Lucio as Junk.
Like I said though:
We’re not talking a Widowmaker level counter but definitely a good pick against him.
Qlso
Lucio can just be hard to hit in general as Junkrat due to his wall riding. Cant rely on ricochets if hes already on the wall.
Its clear these people have never played Rat against some heros. If theyve ever played Rat at all that is, which I highly doubt after reading this:
so i take it you don’t think hes effective, you’re entitled to your opinion
I know we are going to get into an argument which clearly never happens in game (sandbox argument), so I’m just going to say this. I have played this game for 5 years and have NEVER heard someone say, they have a junkrat, lets go lucio. Junkrat is not mechanically intensive, hitting a mine on a lucio with his weird movement is easy (actually his movement is kinda predictable tbh). Also who loses to a lucio in a pure 1v1?!? clearly not a very good junkrat… Just primary fire + mine combo… or double mine if ur REALLY bad lol.
And the enemy speeds into your team, then what? junk is not a long range hero so this is not bad for him at all.
Ok… i feel like this is going to end up in a sandbox argument. Damn it, lol.
Emphasis on the good part.
He doesn’t like a brawl being in his face either. Or dive.
I’m talking about a neutral 1v1. Why would we talk about a 1v1 where the player is better. Fr tho you have to be way better lol with junk its really easy to kill lucio within say… 10m… If the lucio keeps his distance then sure. But a good junk will just play corners why would u play in the open xd
Junkrat is not a mid range hero is the enemy team is in your face you can destroy them. I mean he can get picks mid range from random spam but primarily speaking hes better at close range, you do not want to be in a junkrats face. Even on tank I’m quite scared of junkrat when im close to him.
agreed, tc is surprised at the trap being changed, but its been going on since beta, they were just misinformed. cc was a priority for them to look into, and the trap still uses a form of crowd control.
We’re talking both players being masters+.
Well there’s your answer.
Good job he can play in the sky.
Nope. He lacks the defensive options to deal with an entire team in his face. He prefers spamming at mid range and taking duels in close range. Not full teamfights.
