LOL junkrat nerf

cool so why complain if you cant test it

They’ve been bugged for years. Seems like a justified complaint to me.

Oh true, I didn’t look at the UI. I just looked at the trap behaviour. I’m still finding it incredibly hard to believe, because I’ve never seen that in the entire 900+ hours I’ve played.

As for Tracer blinking out, it’s possible they decided to count it as a defensive ability. They do prioritise defensive abilities in some situations in their lag compensation model, as they mention in their GDC talk from 2017: www-dot-gdcvault-dot-com/play/1024001/-Overwatch-Gameplay-Architecture-and. It’s possible that’s intentional. Still take damage but allow trap to break, since the Tracer blinked out before the server told her she was trapped on the client.

Unless the video showed beta behaviour, in which case it would make no sense.

Fine with me :man_shrugging:

While they’re at it they can also fix the mine hit reg bug, tire wall climb bug, mines not booping Junk bug and tire fall off damage bug.

They have 2 weeks after all. Loads of time.

I mean you asked. I gave you the video and you’ll either accept it or you won’t. These are well known bugs within the Junkrat community and honestly I’m so far past caring if Blizzard ever fix it anymore. Denying they’re a thing though? Nah. I’m glad you never experience it but they exist. Frequently.

I asked, yes, but I don’t feel that the video adequately demonstrates that it’s a bug. Ball being able to roll out of the trap at the start of the video is the most sus thing in there and the only thing I think odd and potentially a bug.

never heard of these and never had them while i play him please play the game so you can talk on it

no one enjoys (well except the rat main of course) being chain cced for 3 seconds while the rat can dish 500 damage - so it’s mostly to help within tank interactions
good riddance
and he can also 1 shot even better since they buffed the brainless ability to 100. just detonate a concusion mine or lob a primary grenade and you got your easy kill

As someone with as many hours as i have with junk, and has logged in to play recently, its still broken, unreliable, bugged.

Doesn’t stretch as often as it does in Beta, but it shatters when its touched instead of capturing enemies.

To be fair, it was intended to stretch in beta to reduce hard CC from DPS heroes.

YIKES!

Don’t worry, you have solidarity with the Sym community. We know how it feels to yearn for your OW1 balance state again…

Agreed, I also haven’t seen those issues. People like to blame the game for their own mistakes so it’s hard to know what’s a real issue and when people are just bad at the game.

Which makes it all the more odd, because nobody really cares about his trap enough to actually complain about it, because it has easy counterplay, like using your eyes.

Which did zero to stop Doomfist from launching himself 50 meters while attached.

Except at lower ranks where people don’t use their brains and eyes as much. So as I say, it nerfs him at lower ranks but not at higher ranks, which is a good thing.

Or spamming shots everywhere and destroying it anyway.

Yeah that too, people accidentally kill it all the time.

Because he had so much momentum. If you pushed far enough, it broke (again, intentionally) so if you were going very fast, you broke out almost immediately. I’m not saying it was a good thing (and clearly the devs agreed, since they reverted it) but don’t call it a bug when it was part of the design.

Yep.

To be clear on how Junkrat’s Trap works and the damage it does…

It originally did 80 damage. When OW2 was in beta, Trap was changed to no longer root the target and instead slow and increased the damage to 100 (up from 80). This change was unfavorable for Junkrat, so in beta 2, the Trap’s slow was removed and reverted back to it’s original function.

But damage was kept the same at 100 damage.

No, this is false. The call can be heard, the the tire is one of the loudest sounds in the game. If you can’t see it or locate before it explodes, that’s largely on you or your team.

That said, there are a number of sound issues going on right now and that also affects Riptire, so players having trouble dealing with it because they can’t hear it is an issue that Blizzard needs to deal with.

Junkrat’s footstep sounds are pretty silent at the moment; either due to bugs or otherwise. I’ve been able to ambush and players have been able to sneak up on me without any sound cues. So it isn’t entirely the fault of the players.

True, but exceedingly rare bugs.

To be fair, for some heroes this can take several seconds to do.

That was just an additional issue that had been mentioned by the previous player, I was just updating on the current state. The shattering on contact and not triggering even when enemies pass over it is the past/present bug that continues to plague the trap.
