You could always try competitive. It’s the only mode I play, and it’s rarely a stomp. Or, just quit.
But quite frankly, they are probably just stomps because you are so out of practice, and don’t even know what the new characters do.

I would suggest hello kittys adventure island, or barbie dreamhouse. Both sound like great choices for you OP.
It is not like it is bad only for those who have been absent.
Not to mention the devs said at few occasions that the first few matches for retuning players are made easier on purpose (add it to the bag of rigged stuff confirmed by the devs)
Mmr reset alone would throw his mm completely out of whack….but even if that wasn’t a thing my matches feel awful if I don’t play for a week….i don’t want to imagine what my play looks like after a year off…
And that’s not even mentioning changes to heroes themselves, new heroes or new maps
maybe taking a year off makes you rusty?
Easier matches for returning players who are rusty are bad? Why? What should it be instead? Dont you think that player might be as bad as the people in the “easy lobby”?
What should it be instead? Straight to diamond lobbies? Easing-back-into-the-game matches that arent too easy? Do you know what that should look like? How is a computer algorithm supposed to know this right away?

Why do you keep making things up
I think for new/returning players they move you up or down more quickly based on how well you do. It looks like this guy got moved down, and then down, and then down, and then down, and the… lol.
ITT: Weak mental.
It is not necessarily “bad” thing, but it is still a form of rigging if you are on the receiving end (in that guy’s team or the other).
The point is, outside of that mmr boost for the first few matches, the matchmaking is going to be bad regardless if you are returning player or not.
What should it look like instead?
What would you suggest they do to stop “rigging” games?

Yeah I came in to say… what kind of win/loss ratio was OP honestly expecting?
If I go even a week without playing this game, and then jump back, I definitely notice the rust and get my butt kicked for a little while before I get back into the swing of things.
Where are the fan boys/girls saying " those 8 games were all your fault! don’t blame rigging MM or Blizz the losses were 100% your fault!"
MM gives you a taste of a win here and there to hopefully keep you going once it thinks it’s hooked you like a fish it reels you in and here you go loss after loss after loss.
It won’t change after a year. My advice is keep it uninstalled like me. I’m having so much more fun in other games that aren’t rigged and devs that actually care about their player base.

lol true. With these types of people it’s always like, “i won x number so now I’m on a loss streak because blizzard always just cares about whether i win or lose and doesn’t care about the other 9 people in my match. They just rig games for me!”
