Local Reflections setting no longer works properly

Since the Retribution update the Local Reflections setting on PC has stopped functioning properly, now defaulting to the ‘off’ setting no matter what you have selected. The only way I can get it to work is to turn on the Epic preset and restart the game. Once the game loads back up the Local Reflections will be working again but if I then dial in my desired settings Local Reflections will be forced off the next time I start up Overwatch.

Here’s a comparison when I turn the setting on and off:

And finally to illustrate how impactful this setting actually is to the image quality, here’s a fully maxed out, 200% render scale, 1440p screenshot. The game is running at the highest settings possible and it looks quite nice.

Now here’s the exact same scene with the same settings, only I have disabled Local Reflections.

It makes a pretty massive difference!

I’ve found a workaround; in any of the graphics presets, if you want local reflections, set model detail to either High or Ultra, then restart the game. you’ll find it suddenly works properly after doing so, it isn’t tied to the preset.
